Having in the Aztec Stadium will give Ruiz a big advantage, now it's up to the promoters to put the money up.
He will be at a big disadvantage fighting in London with our Terry reffing!
Surely Hayman will pay to keep Ruiz at home.

Even Joshua's biggest fans would probably accept that back to back defeats against Ruiz would be a fatal blow.

You just hope this is what Joshua really wants and he isn't under pressure from management, promoters and TV companies
He's a corporate type of guy. That's not an insult it's just reality.
He's looking out for a brand and not his own interests.

Hearn will promote the fight no doubt that was in the rematch clause.
It was more than likely also put in that clause that Joshua gets to pick the venue.

Shortly after the fight he wanted Wilder, may have still been concussed then though, truth is the rematch clause was there for Joshua so now he has to step up,it will only work if he wants it bad enough, like Lennox v Rahman

Almost certainly a UK venue and a monumental pay day for Ruiz.

Ruiz must insist on Joshua being subjected to a prolonged and comprehensive testing programme. Plus get his lawyers to scrutinise the alleged TUEs.

He must also prepare himself mentally to get fucked about from pillar to post like never before when he is over here. Having the right team in place to protect himself from that is crucial.

They tried fornicating GGG about when he came over to fight Brook and it clearly rattled him. Not applicable with the heavies so much but as an example, it took the driver almost two hours to ferry GGG from his hotel to the weigh in. Not cricket when the guy just wants to get on the scale and rehydrate. Etc...

i think AJ should avoid the rematch. sometimes in boxing someone just has your number, and ruiz has his. if AJ got beat in the rematch then he is done, finished. he should regroup, take a couple of warm ups then go a different route. Wilder would spark him and fury would dance rings round him. i want to watch Wilder v Ruiz.

Besides we don't know what kind of mental effect this has on him. What Hearn wants and what Joshua needs are two different things.

If I were his handler I'd allow Ruiz to defend the belts first to someone else, some fringe contender in his home state or Mexico. In the interim really prepare. Then enact the rematch clause.
Wouldn’t surprise me at all if Ruiz lost the belts to some fringe contender. Then Joshua gets frozen out big-time.

This is all true. Plus a hostile, bugled up crowd who think they are at a football match. Then an obscure judge or two mixed in with 'friendly to the house' UK based officials. Say, for example, Phil Edwards, Michael Alexander or Ian John-Lewis. There'll be pressure on Joshua for sure, but the deck will be stacked heavily against Ruiz.

I wonder just what is in the rematch clause, whether Ruiz has any say in anything. You would imagine he would have been so eager to get the initial shot that he'd be prepared to virtually sign anything.

I don't think Ruiz is that bad. He's qualified but he's certainly no legitimate top three guy. He's just tailor made for Joshua. He's got his number. He'd get beaten by Wilder or Fury. I can see him beating a guy like Whyte, who is solidly top five. It's a tricky situation. He's good enough to beat "the guy" everyone thought was arguably the best, but nobody else in the top five. He can beat all the others in the top fifteen. Joshua is just his sweet spot.

Wouldn't wish the UK on any foreign fighter. Considerably worse than 1990s Germany imo and on a par or worse than Italy. Probably worse because it appears more organised. Horrible little island as a live opponent.

It would be the end (for now) of the type of money team aj are talking.....bit I don't think it would be the end of his title hopes full stop.....look at Parker......still considered a legitimate threat.....and going back in history look at MAB vs Junior Jones.

If he beats Ruiz handily in the rematch, he'll shoot right back up there. He needs to show that the loss was an aberration.

It shows Joshua is probably in a better mental. Now he needs to learn to work behind a big jab (to the head, please), establish distance, and go back to being patient.

I think Joshua can win the fight if he fights a perfect fight and gets to Ruiz first. He was extremely gunshy due to Ruiz counter punching ability and fast hands. He lost virtually every time they exchanged punches. It's very difficult to beat a guy who is willing to exchange punches and punch when you punch. Amir Khan had the same problem with Danny Garcia. You simply have to engage in a firefight of sorts because the guy in front of you is willing to put himself in your punching range and fancies his chances when you exchange. Ricardo Mayorga was dangerous because of this. I don't think Joshua is capable to hitting and moving for 12 rounds and holding when necessary on the inside. It was a horrific fight for Joshua because he hurt Ruiz and Ruiz didn't change his tactics at all. Joshua was like a deer in the headlights and scared to throw punches.

He has to fight an absolutely perfect fight and get to Ruiz before Ruiz gets to him and starts bullying him. I didnt like how Joshua was asking McCracken "What should I do?" "what's he gonna do now?" "Should I push him back?" etc.

He doesn't have to fight a perfect fight. He just needs to be relaxed; patient; and work behind a hard jab to the head. He's got an 8" reach advantage FFS. Watch Lewis/Tua. Even Lewis/Rahman II. The jab is the key for AJ. He doesn't have to initiate exchanges with Ruiz. Jab (head) from a comfortable distance; attack when the opportunity is presented; make Ruiz chase him. I don't mean AJ should dance about, just don't give yourself up and be a target. AJ, at his best, is a patient fighter who recognizes what's in front of him, and makes the adjustment on the offensive side. He did none of that for the first time against Ruiz. First thing to do? Get a new trainer. Those questions he asked were more of a discredit to his corner than to AJ. He wasn't properly guided and his corner had no answer. Easy win in the rematch for Joshua.

I hope Ruiz demands at least an 80-20 split, but there was probably something different in the rematch clause.

I can’t see there being too many rigid or crazy clauses in the rematch contract as they never in their wildest dreams expected Joshua to get his arse handed to him, from past experience working in world title fights and dealing with the legal side and contracts etc I would assume that the original contract for the fight would of had numerous details as they do, 1 being in the case of A Ruiz win then there would be a rematch clause if the team so happen to want to execute it, with stipulations along the lines of Joshua picks venue and probably he gets 50/50 split and Matchroom in association with AJBxing co-promote the show other than that I can’t see there being a financial limitation or any rigid rules that would make it hard for Ruiz team to call some major shots and dictate a lot of the rematch clause is executed
