The fight just make that much. But then you have expenses. No way they’re paying Ruiz that much. And if they do, the event will be making a loss.

Admittedly I haven’t seen any proof of Andy Ruiz Jr’s alleged demands for engaging in the AJ rematch on British shores for $50m, but even if it’s true, it’ll simply be a negotiating tactic and the Mexican will inevitably be willing to compromise and accept a smaller fee.

I do feel that the Mexican ‘Destroyer’ would be very willing to accept a pay cut to have the bout staged in the US or Mexico.

In terms of revenue generation, the rematch will be bigger than Joshua’s bout against Klitschko and it’ll be far more profitable to stage too, with Sky and DAZN covering the expenses relating to broadcasting fees, as Matchroom is the boxing content provider for both parties.

So for the Joshua-Ruiz Jr. rematch, I wouldn’t be surprised to see both fighters earning in the region of $30m to $35m each.

Even if Andy Ruiz Jr. somehow becomes today’s equivalent of James ‘Buster’ Douglas, he would have earned $40m+ over the course of two bouts. And if he loses the rematch, but gives a good account of himself, he’ll probably receive another highly-lucrative $15m+ offer to complete the trilogy.

I’ve just watched the Joshua-Ruiz Jr. bout for the sixth time and I’m utterly amazed about how well Andy did. He looked fantastic during that fight.

I’ve been a fan of his since 2015, but I never truly realised how good he really was.

Some of the things he did against AJ were so subtle and nuanced that only the very hardest of hard-core boxing aficionados can appreciate his performance last weekend.

True...here's an article about it:

https://www.boxingnews24.com/2019/06/an ... hua-in-uk/
“Right now my team, they’re negotiating everything right now,” said Ruiz Jr. to Fighthub. “I’ve just got to stay busy, stay healthy and be ready for the rematch. I’d love it to be here in the United States or in Mexico, you know. It all depends on the team and what they negotiate. If they want me to go over there, they’ve got to give me $50 million dollars. If they want to come over here. It’s just negotiations, you know.”

Only if AJ retires, if they let them belts go and they get picked up by other fighters they’ll want silly money to fight AJ, also it’ll be fcuking huge, bigger than the Klit fight.

Nah.
If Ruiz loses a rematch but loses well the only 'name' that will fight him is Whyte.

Yes. Once the big wigs gears start churning...this fight becomes very risky. Was Joshua having an off day, personally I believe he wasn’t at his best however Ruiz may have the style to beat him, again and again. Can AJ recover from mentally and earning capacity wise from two losses in a row? Very risky. I don’t see it happening right now but would love to be wrong.

nah, rematch will happen, no real good evidence has come out that should really convince ppl suddenly that it wont....andy can say he wants this or that but he signed a rematch clause that ajs team said they have activated

i get the sense that aj detractors dont want aj to have a chance at evenging the loss though and hence they want to think it wont happen

Not sure why AJ detractors wouldn't want a rematch, but I'm sure it is going to happen.

I see. Well, we'll get a rematch for sure. When that's finished, we'll have another 99 threads on the same topics, but maybe in reverse. We'll see 1000 posts like "I called it" "I knew it." etc....LMFAO!

I' be been saying that since all the talk of this vague rematch clause materialized.

As Ruiz is suddenly saying "I'm the champion now. I call the shots."

Well, he and Haymon.

you doubt they have a rematch clause? i mean of course it would be vague to you, your not part of their teams and the inner workings of things. why exactly would you know the exact details?

rematch clauses are pretty standard for big time fighters. i highly doubt they wouldnt have one and hearn already said they did and are triggering it. andy can say what he wants (and immediatly since winning he was) and of course is unlikely to meekly announce 'ya, i signed a clause so am bound to it' but it doesnt matter if hes legally bound and signed a clause

Would you expect the rematch clause to be descriptive at this point? Especially only a week after the fight took place. I'm sure the details will be released after things are hammered out between the two.

Rematch clauses are pretty standard for any voluntary defense. Obviously when the challenger is a far bigger name like foreman/cotto that's not going to be the case.

The rematch ? Surely !
The immediate rematch ? It would be wise from Joshua to have one tune-up fight (Amir Khan thinks so, I agree with him).

Amor Khan, George Foreman, Lennox Lewis and numerous others all think he should have a fight or 2 before the rematch.
But we are getting the rematch. Just now waiting to see if Joshua can over come and adjust

harisson wrote: 04 Jun 2019, 14:52 So Eddie Hearn just wrote on twitter that after meetings with AJ, his coach and the rest of the team, they triggered the contracted rematch clause! The match should take place in Nov/Dec.
What do you thkink about the outcome of this, what should Josh should do differently this time?
Also what do you guys think about Lennox's comments about Rob Mc?
As a big AJ fan, I really hope that he bounce back from this, maybe take Andy more seriously, work on his cardio more, and box him in a more controled way. Keep his distance and move a lot more. Get him tired, work his body and put big shots only when he's sure they are landing, or pretty much landing. The main thing would be to AVOID EXCHANGES!
That's it, sorry if my english is not very good guys. :salut:

I'll go with George Foreman, he shouldn't do it. He should fight someone else. Ruiz overpowered him, bulled right through him.

I've been watching vids of between rounds, and picked up on McCracken telling AJ pretty much that. Jab from range. then Jab Jab Right. Over and over. AJ to me was never recovered by that left hook to the temple in rd 1. He was dazed out the rest of the fight.

Nobody is talking very clearly about the exact nature if the rematch clause.

Barry Hearn was very hazy about it.

If there'a one little comma or semi-colon out of place, it will be challenged. That's why they pay the attorneys big bucks.

And whatever it says, folks break contracts all the time.

If PBC's feels it's in its best interests to walk away from a rematch, that's what they'll do.

lol i dont think rematch clauses usually get exactly publically spelled out in every detail just days after the first fight. of course its vague to you right now. there was pretty much certain to be one and i doubt its just some sham thats super easy to violate, not like matchroom can only afford linol hutz

if clauses and contracts were so easy to break and just required finding a comma there would be no point in them really. its not so simple and they exist and have been enforced for a reason

i guess if pbc is willing to pay the legal costs of not rematching, but then again a rematch sounds great business for ruiz. another big payday, keeps all his belts, and fights a big name he already knocked out. and what, with wilder already having his opponents set and what not...
