joshua was a stone and a half lighter despite being 6 inches taller and ripped.
ruiz was 6 pounds heavier than his last fight and 11 pounds heavier than against parker.
ruiz said he wanted the extra weight so that he wouldnt be pushed around!
very strange! ruiz obviously has the physique to be in fighting shape yet fat at the same time. yet how much quicker and better stamina would he have if he shed the excess 30? pounds.
so he must have trained hard and filled his belly too. reminiscent of james toney, but ruiz somehow a more natural heavy.
also, im sure ruiz doesnt run much. lots of sparring and technical work, bag and pad probably.

It’s pretty easy, not rocket science at all, he simple was very hydrated which also shows in his skin and flesh, he ate more calories than he was burning which would be into the many thousands a day anyway training so hard and in the heat, and on top of that he lost fat and gained muscle by doing heavy strength work which showed when he was inside and able to push Joshua back, which gains muscle differently to the low weight high rep work that cuts muscle and makes you look body beautiful like how many of you believe he should look, well he looks how he does and just showed what the real people always have knew and that is muscles are for show and nothing else, Ruiz is most certainly fit and conditioned to a very high standard, just look again at him and Joshua, mr muscles was blowing out his arse after 2 rounds of doing Fuk all while mr fatty was barley breaking a sweat and the one doing all the pressing and throwing the more punches and work, sure Ruiz runs only select few fighters rarely do and instead implement high intensity swimming routines into their schedule to replace the extra road work to spare the strain on there joints and heavier frames, but Ruiz runs, too much emphasis on how he looks, the best 2 heavyweights in the world at the minute are fat and pale, you know why ? Because there not modified, there genuine, fully fledged heavyweights, they don’t need supplements or plenty of weights to bulk up

danconnollyeire wrote: 06 Jun 2019, 10:47 The bold is absolutely false. For one, losing nearly 30lbs in 5 weeks would leave you exhausted, drained, weak and overtrained. Also, if you trained hard and lost body fat and gained muscle you'd weigh more as muscle is 3x heavier than fat. Ruiz openly said he'd trained for size so he could be stronger in the ring
Literally what?!

If he trained hard for five weeks, he would or could gain muscle that would outstrip the amount of fat he would lose? Almost impossible to gain muscle while losing bodyfat mate for starters, you couldnt even gain a pound of muscle if you worked your effing nuts off in five weeks while you could lose a fck load of fat (dependant on the amount of calorie deficit).

Sometimes this forum is hilarious.

Sounds like you're in the ballpark there, Toby, if it's true that Ruiz was scared of losing muscle alongside fat. He probably feels strong at the weight. But now he's plenty of time to lose fat and then regain strength.

The bottom line is that he won 100 of 105 amateur fights, 33 of 34 pro fights and is heavyweight champion of the world - whatever he does it works for him

Night & day for movement between those two.

I think many of us are guilty of under rating Ruiz. He moves well, he’s quick, hits hard. Yes he’s fat & small, but a schooled boxer. The little fat kid who can box, always beats the bully, remember that!!

Ruiz can beat Wilder too, if he manages to weather the category 10 storm coming his way. And as we are all fans of the sweet science, in sure we’ll all be rooting for the boxer.

Fury UD’s Ruiz.

Um...isn't the answer to the OP simple as more calories taken in than burned? Water weight? 6LBS is approx. 2.1% of total weight. A good crap or two. :maybe:

I mean don't literally what me. You're so stupid it's laughable. You're what makes this forum hilarious

I have a degree in sport science and a certified personal trainer as well as doing the odd boxing coaching over the years. You can write what you know about fitness and wait loss on the back of a postage stamp. You struggle to even spell consistently, so good luck trying to school me but anyways...

If you think a mere 5 weeks training would burn the fat, and we're talking aesthetically, because you're talking about body fat percentages but you don't actually have the instruments, access to Ruiz's body or the know how to actually test body fat percentages and you don't know what Andy's was five weeks ago

In bold in literally one of the most stupid quotes I've ever seen. Pro bodybuilders literally burn fat while gaining muscle for competition. Here's some references that might help with a very very basic understanding (something you don't have as you're literally making sh1t up):

Great, thanks for those articles. But I am pretty sure I said it was ALMOST impossible to gain muscle and lose weight (almost suggests it is possible, in certain situations) but anyway I was highlighting you saying he could gain more muscle than fat and because it was 3 x heavier, he would weigh more. So why don't you run along and come back with any research or data that suggests you could gain enough muscle (while in a deficit to lose fat) and end up heavier in any circumstance, let alone five weeks.

I honestly do not believe that is possible, but if it is, will of course fall on my sword here

:OhYes: you're actually insane. You're derogatory at the fact I did a little research and presented some facts and then you're telling me what you do not believe, whith your zero experience, qualifications and research... some logic that. No it doesn't but it's a true reflection of the world today. People arguing and trying to mock, ridicule people presenting facts and evidence while spouting their unqualified, idiotic opinions and conclusions they came to while sitting in Wetherspoons

Dear oh dear.
Many many MANY heavies don’t run.
How do they build up the stamina to do 12 rounds if they're not doing roadwork?

He needs to potentially go 12 rounds, so he’s obviously putting rounds in the bank in training, loads of bagwork, loads of padwork and loads of sparring, it’s old school and proven and exactly what AJ should be doing instead of all this new age bollox he gets up to.

Don't think Toney did any roadwork, his stamina came from endless sparring. The sheer volume of punches he ate doing this obviously had deleterious consequences vis-a-vis his noodle, but he could always go 12.

fat boys can train super hard and run miles, and simply take in enough calories to still gain fat

doesnt mean they will reap no benefits of there training, though being a fat ass isnt optimal

These two "facts". Show me any proof whatsoever that that is possible, either of them.

Not a single non-assisted pro bodybuilder will be gaining muscle. At best, they are mitigating the muscle loss to be moinimum through a dieting phase

Equal mass of muscle weighs more than fat. That said, a person can appear thinner and actually weigh more. Or appear the same in mass but actually weigh more.

Bodybuilders definitely dont gain muscle whilst burning fat. They try to minimise muscle loss when cutting an they certainly aren't burning fat when gaining muscle

This board is getting as bitchy as the current scene
