It’s at least a shame that he wasn’t put in a big eliminator for another shot at the world title rather than wait around like a spare part for the Khan fight. At least that way we would have been able to see exactly what he had left.
Well, I think he’s shown, especially last time out that there’s not a lot left there. Perhaps if he had got and won an eliminator he could have taken another beating.
Forgive me, but I’m not in favour of squeezing fighters until the pips squeak...

Agreed. Presumably Brook must have felt he had something left otherwise he would have packed in by now and much sooner. I just hate the idea that he might have been shelved against his wishes. Who knows what the true picture is. I’ve always been a fan of the lad.

The problem was the Eliminators were against live opponents for very little monies - he didn’t want to chance it for £200-£300k Incase the Khan fight went wrong.

When he beat Rabchenko, he won the WBC Silver belt. Got him a decent ranking. Hearn is well liked by the orgs, another fight he would likely have been in a mandatory position. They were already saying he could even fight Hurd next. But what would that have gotten him? £1m at least? He wanted £5-£8m against Khan.
Hopefully he still has the millions he earned against Spence and GGG. And they both came at a cost of an eye. Each!

Far from not fullfilling his talent kel has probably has done as well as he could have done, all be it he lost a few voluntary defence cos of his lifestyle but imo his dad coming on board and taking a bigger role coinciding with a switch from Fw to matchroom was the catalyst to his eventual win over porter, in which again although I thought he got it, didn’t think he would get it. He has made and invested well,
been world champ and gets out with his marbles.

Would have liked to have seen him in with some of the big boys after he recovered from his injuries.
Seemed intent on keeping his belt in order to entice Khan rather than get a couple big wins, which would have made him a real name in the division.
If he retires good luck to him. I hope he has invested his money wisely, he had to work very hard for it.
But if he does decide to give it one more run, he should forget Welter and go straight after one of the light middleweight champs.
Dangerous fighters, all of them, but more beatable than GGG and arguably safer than killing himself to make welterweight.

always thought brook was a madly underrated fighter. had he fought ggg and spence in reverse order he would beaten both of them , and been recognised as elite.

Spence maybe, 50-50. But he is never beating GGG.

Considering that eye injury he took, probably the right decision.

Good. Waste of a career. Could not care less about Brook. As I have said before, when Carson Jones (debatably) slots in to your top three wins, you know the career was not one of deliverance.
Damn, his career highlights are things like "his opponent fought Cotto" or "the guy he beat had also taken a hiding off Canelo". Joke, utter joke.
Exactly this.

Oops, someone’s been busted not even reading what they’re copying & pasting onto the forum
I was actually convinced Jennings had a chance, as I didn’t really rate Cotto at the time. Clearly I was very much mistaken.
