That man's name is Tyson Cave. He's probably slipped by now, as that robbery was a long time ago, but it's disgraceful that Escandon got title shots, and this man who was obviously WAY more talented than him got nothing.
Tyson is a beast. I worked his corner this past weekend in a Canadian Title fight. Tyson (37) looked like he was 25! He put an savage beating on Kyle MacNeil. I think the referee should have stopped the fight after the second knockdown, and I was relieved when Kyle’s trainer stopped the fight.

Slipped? Ya probably, he’s getting pretty old for a bantamweight/ Featherweight. His lifestyle seems like it should take more of a toll...

I think his evasive style is keeping him fresh. We’ve been friends for 16 years, and I’ve never seen him get beat up (sparring included)... lost a couple fights, sure. But take an actual beating... not yet.

I hope he gets another opportunity before time truly runs out! 🤞🏽

I'm glad to here he's still performing at a high level. Like I said he shut out Oscar Escandon, and if you're close enough to him to be working his corner, let him know that this fight fan in the American South thought it was the worst robbery he ever saw, and says so to as many people who will listen. Cave deserved a 12 rounds to 0 shutout victory over Escandon. The fact that Escandon got that decision should've been a goddamn felony.

How long is he suspended for?

Architect of his own downfall really, I wouldn't mind but the tart he kissed is ugly as fornicate.

He's probably not suspended at all in most of the world. Just the U.S. where he's not a draw anyway. I'd just ply my trade in Europe, and never come back to this place if I were him.

A choice some may disagree with, but Chisora.

He's had big fights, but only one world title shot back vs Klitschko. Plenty of less deserving fighters with worse resumes than him have had more world title chances. Plus, he's a guy who fights anyone. He definitely deserves another chance to pick up a title before he retires.

He needs a decent win especially after being stopped by Whyte two fights ago. At least he seems to be taking training serious these days, looks in better shape and more motivated.

Parker

You'd think a rising heavyweight whose only lost to Usyk and who's father was a boxing powerhouse in the 80s would be getting more of a push.

You'd think an ex-champion would be more in the mix than he is. 2 losses shouldn't be a death sentence. He needs to be in there against Andy Ruiz again. If I was his handler I'd be selling that pitch, "The man who beat the man."

He hasn't even good a meaningful fight since I don't think.

@gilgamesh - Thanks! Tyson will be thrilled to know he has a fan. It seems like Tyson is still at a high level. He can crush our 11km running loop in 46 minutes, and he continues to spar with a few high level boxers & UFC competitors... One of these days he'll probably jump in the ring an very quickly realize he's too old.

@world ranked - You're right. I'll be surprised if Tyson ever gets another serious opportunity. Who would want to fight him?
  • He does not have legions of fans that will tune in to ESPN.
  • His style can be polarizing.
  • He rarely moves forward or stands still so up-and-comer promotional worthy Olympians can find less risky opponents to showcase their skills.
  • At (nearly) 38, what promoter is going to want to invest in him?
Tyson almost got an opportunity to fight Scott Quigg once (before Escandon) back when Tyson had a top ten ranking with the WBC or WBA. Tyson accepted an offer from Quigg's team that would have netted him dozens of dollars (seriously, it was pitiful). Then Quigg's team backed out of the deal... There may have been issues with the professionalism of Tyson's management, but ultimately I believe Quigg's team vetted Tyson and were concerned about the risk.

No he does not deserve another chance at a title. He has lost every time he steps up in competition.
He is great at what he does. He will always be the guy picked to fight a contender because he will lose. He makes good money and gives it his best. But his best is not good enough

Agree about Parker.

For a guy who's only lost to the then unified champion and the number 1 HW contender in the world, in an exciting fight that he would almost certainly have won had it been 20 seconds longer, he seems to have been almost airbrushed from history, especially by the WBO whose title he held as recently as last year.

He's only suspended in Commyfornia. Kissing girls - even "working girls" - is frowned upon there.

Well. Against Whyte, it could easily have been a draw had the 2nd round KD not been given. Was it an elbow which dropped Parker?

I came here to say Dillian Whyte.

That dude might as well have a belt at this point. He beat a recent titlist who was stripped. He beat another recent titlist who lost his belt to the #1 guy. He beat another top 15 contender. He's fighting another borderline top 10 contender in his next fight. He also beat another #20-30 guy during that run. Compare that to Wilder's early title reign -- won his title against a possibly top 15 guy, defended it against a barely top 50 guy, defended it against a top 20 guy, defended it against a top 40 guy, then defended it against Arreola, Washington, and Stiverne 2 (probably no one even top 40 in that list). By the time Wilder had 8 world title wins, he still hadn't done as much as Whyte has in his non-title run.

One of the knockdowns was an accidental heatbutt.
It took Parker a few rounds to shake it off too.

Kevin Barry got a bit of stick for moaning about it after the fight, but he had a genuine gripe imo.

Yeh. That was it. Higgins said they would appeal to the WBO, but then a month later dropped the whole thing.

Parker wasn’t really out-classes against either Whyte or Joshua.

I don't know. Most people who follow the Heavyweight division are pretty high on him and Ajagba but it's Ajagba being developed much faster.

Thing with HW’s, there mostly been only 2 champions for a long time. Apart from 2017 where we had 3 different champions.

I agree Chisora has had his chance(s).. most HW’s mostly get that one world title shot. And who knows, if he beat Pulev, he might have had another opportunity.

Not many HW’s recently have had 2 world title shots. Ortiz is a more recent one, but that’s only because Wilder is giving him another shot.

It’s unlike other weights where there is usually 3-4 world champions. Look at Trout? In four fights, he had 3 world title shots.

Hurd, Jermell and Jermall.
