Hatton was supposed to be guest speaking during a night in newcastle last weekend. I attended that event, 6 weeks before his fight against olivera. He did not attend because he had to start training camp that day... 1 day; would it have made a big difference? probably not but he still didnt attend.
The event in question was to raise money for new born babies that could not breathe un-sterille air. Did ricky phone and say "sorry im in training, its a no show im affraid" NO he offered everyone that had attended to see him a full refund, he auctioned off a days training with him in billy grahams gym (pay for a day to be lamped by hatton - great ??), 4 vip tickets to the olivera fight, a pair of signed gloves, a pair of signed shorts, numerous other signed items and a partridge in a pear tree.
Knock him all you want but as far as im concerned the guy is a top bloke and a model pro.

firstly read the post i was referring to lirva and it was a joke but in response.........
i have a very good job thanks. And am very successful, as a few of the people whom have met me on that post on here can testify.
I post on here when the markets are quiet or generally at lunch. I wouldnt cast aspersions on my profesionalism or commitment to my work if I were you son you wont win..I have more time in the week as I deal with Arabian gulf and their weekend is thurs friday so I tend to work some of the weekend hence i have more time in the week, I hope that explains the situation, not that I need to, but now you know, so again you dont know what you are on about.
now i have nothing against you guys personally but I think this thread has served a purpose, people knock Hatton for no reason other than its fashionable to do so. Of course knock him if he deserves it but this type of generalistic slagging of fighters by armchair fans who havent even smelt sweat let alone gone near a boxing gym is typical of cancer that is riddling british boxing at the moment.
Most folk on this thread dont agree with you that hatton looks out of shape, what exactly are you trying to attain by stating inaccuracies and slating someone who doesnt deseve it ? What exactly are you achieving other than making yourselves look very silly?
bit more PMA (postive mental attitude) wouldnt go amiss.
Having said that Wales nice one.

Silkov just said that Hatton looked bloated in his opinion. I believe he is entitled to his opinion. He then said that Hattons talk of fighting Zoo is balls and that Hatton is basically fighting people he knows he can beat and refusing to take the big fights. He is 100% correct and 99% of boxing fans agree with him.

yes and its my opinion that he doesnt look bloated!
And does silkov need you as his mouth peice? Most fans do think you are correct on the Zoo issue for crying out loud even I do, Ive stated i think he will fight for the vacant IBF not against Kostya, but as you can see most fans are not posting agreement on this thread and having a needless pop as you guys are in this instance, sure criticise him when he is worthy of it but in this case I think you are wrong as using your words do most fans on here.
ive stated above, the reasons I take umbrage to this, it doesnt matter what hatton does in some peoples eyes he is just a fashionable target, so fornicating what if he doesnt fight Zoo what do you want me to do drag him across the fornicating atlantic myself?
Either way, well done you are doing a great job in supporting your homegrown talent no wonder boxing is int he state it is in this country if you guys are supposed fans.
Im not gonna reply any further on this thread not because Im "rattled" but because I dont want it to descend into some farcical bitch fight. I think Ive made my point and Im not gonna get you to agree and vice versa so lets agree to disagree then.

you all saw how fat Kosta was when Williams fought Tyson...
Tito is always a fatty inbetween fights as well...
not sure how big an issue it is, it certainly hasnt affected Tyszu or Trinidads longevity

Top bloke, never in question, Ricky is a true gent....
Model pro, hmmm, not sure, IMO a model pro would have made sure they had some bigger fights by now.

Nice one mate, good to know that there are somepeople on this post without blinkers on!.
Actually J my comment about the job was light-hearted as I thought you'd see by the smiles etc... but again you totally overreacted!.
All I have said basically is that Hatton looked out of shape! I have been involved in boxing for about 20 odd years (someof them very odd) and I know what I'm talking about! plenty of fighters stay 'inshape' when they are between fights. The relevance of Hatton being out of shape is it shows that all his blather about having a nutritionist etc carries as much weight (sorry for the pun!) as his bather about wanting to fight the best!!!.
What happened to the Witter fight that Hatton said was a 'must' about 18 months ago???..... what happened to the 'big fight' FW told us he would have in Nov this year???. I don't think he meant another 30+ lightweight?... well having said that he prob did!.
Wake up J you're being fooled!.

Shame you can't discuss things rationally without losing your cool. Why should we support someone who is ripping the public off and has constantly ducked decent challengers!.... don't tell me what I should think or say mate.... I used to be a big Hatton fan but he's just fighting bums now and if you can't see that you are either blind or know very little about boxing!.

If they get a crack at Tszyu, which is no racing certainty, then the no-risk
fight against Olivera makes sense. If they don't, then it will all have just
been a waste of time.
Hatton obviously does blow up between fights. The nutritionist is there to
enable him to make weight safely and maintain his strength.
This has been a bad year for most of our big names, Hatton and Calzaghe in particular seem to have gone backward rather than forward, and I have to say my patience has worn as thin as a stud-cock's foreskin.

your dropped off ages ago haha sorry couldnt resist, again my beef is not about the opponents we have all had our say in that myself included but the utilisation of every opportunity to slate hatton deservred or not, now I really am done.

You say Hatton is slated too much but admit that sometimes it is deserved?..... if its deserved then why shouldn't people slate him?.
The fact that Hatton is getting rubbished so much shows something, people aren't jealous or dislike him because he is a Manc or anything like that, its the frustration with how his career has progressed! or rather not progressed!. I actually think he has wasted a portion of his prime and has left it too long to step up now... a defeat now will be much more damaging than it would have been say 2 years ago.
My basic huge frustration with Hatton is I think he has taken the easy route rather than push himself towards the limit of his abilities and in doing so he's sold both himself and his fans short!... 8)

Look to lay this to rest mate cos I really dont have anything against you or lirva at all and I havent got angry or annoyed bout this no matter what you think, i have said some criticism is warranted but its becoming ludicrous its almost a hate campaign anfd that I dont like.
I dont think hatotn deserved the criticism on this thread to be honest, it had nothing to do with him and was in my opinion a cheap shot mate, thats my issue.
Im not extremely pro or anti hatton at present though I admit I was a huge fan at the beginning of last year all I beleive is that we shouldnt be slating our fighters for no good reason, it does the sport no good, it does the fighters no good and it does this message board no good.
you have valid points regarding his level of opponeents for 2004, and Ive said as much myself but I just think the present level of Hatton attacks is unfair and unjust, he did a good job against Stewart and hopefully we will see hime tested in the new Year, personally i believe we will, you obviously dont. Thats fine thats your perogative and I respect that, my issue is that at every opportunity he is the subject of stick the start of this thread being an example, I find that unplalatable, there are plenty of other fighters who arent fighting at their optimum level who dont get a quarter of the criticism that Hatotn gets and I am just tired of the relentless hate campaign.
thats my take.
