Just listened to this today. Came across as a decent bloke as I expected. The shooting is still shocking to hear about all these years later. Such a lucky lad to be around telling the story.
Yeah, don’t care how tough you are, that must be terrifying, sounds like it was just a case of being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Yes, he has done all those things and he stayed WBO champ for years. All credit to him for that. Still, as a fan, I wish we didn’t have to see him clowning around as a TV analyst all the time. I find him tiresome.
Why didn’t he unify?
Because he couldn't beat real world champions. The WBO belt wasn't a major belt in that era, and it was almost always contested by B level fighters or, occasionally, good ones that were being protected.
