Good call.
He may be Canelo's next opponent.
Good call.
I originally picked Kovalev as a likely Canelo foe for September but just found out that Kovalev is fighting Anthony Yarde in August:
PLUS Canelo's knee problems could keep him from fighting ANYONE in September:Top Rank promoter Bob Arum is reporting that Sergey Kovalev vs. Anthony Yarde is set for August 24 in Russia
One problem that could get in the way of Canelo fighting in September against Kovalev or Gennady Golovkin is a knee problem the Mexican star is experiencing. According to Arum, the 29-year-old Canelo Alvarez having problems with one of his knees. Presumably this is the same knee that has been giving Canelo problems for a couple of years. He wears a knee brace during his fights to guard it .
September may be out of the question if his knees are truly injured.boxing_rocks wrote: ↑02 Jul 2019, 10:23 Arum says that Canelo is having issues with his knee. Here is something which may confirm that:
Who wouldn't be interested and has somebody ever been not interested in fighting Canelo unless they are deliberately lowballed like Kovalev?
"This morning I spoke with [Golden Boy CEO] Oscar [De La Hoya] and he asked me if there was interest in the fight between Jaime and Canelo," Beltran told ESPN Deportes.
How can you include the Klitschko's in that line up?
I have to admit I don't know much about Munguia but I don't imagine too many are going to be thrilled by the prospect of this match are they?Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑03 Jul 2019, 01:21 Wow! It’s now saying he’s in talks to likely make a fight with Munguia.
yep, that's pretty much the way I see it..candyslim wrote: ↑04 Jul 2019, 07:18 I can't say I'm too upset about that. Great fights no doubt but if it's in the same location it's likely to be the same result: GGG isn't likely to stop Canelo, he hasn't before, he won't win a points decision in Vegas, and at his age isn't likely to improve on his previous performances.
I think if they fight again it's likely Canelo will get an undisputed win on merit, but for me it doesn't alter the fact he definitely lost the first fight and arguably the second one too.
In short to me it's all a bit![]()
