The gloves situation is fucked at all levels. I've heard of pro shows where fighters have been given damp gloves with blood on them...
I've known shows where fighters have brought their own gloves and been allowed to fight in them. Happened to a lad I know, when the same opponent was scheduled to fight another lad from the same gym as the first, they brought a pair of 10oz Reyes with them, that a flyweight had been using for bagwork, had them at ringside ready so if the other lad came out with his own gloves on they would declare they were swapping for their own gloves too. Never came to that though.
