Not true.
"Kuzmin has nothing to suggest against Hunter."

"I will be watching with interest to see how Hunter wins."

"Nice, good win for hunter."
Where is the “no hoper” part, again? In other words, if someone is of the opinion that Hunter will defeat Kuzmin they have overrated the American?

Garbage.

This match-up is good. Both fighters are mildly proven, at least to the degree that the loser's scalp will be worth more than anyone beaten by Breazeale, Joyce, Hrgovic, Yoka, Martin, or Hughie. It may also be a better win than Ajagba's win over Demirezen and Dubois's win over Gorman.

Not a bad start if they all get made.

A hypothetical win over Kuzmin should put Hunter in the top 5/10 of each of the sanctioning bodies. Hopefully that could lead to a competitive matchup soon. Someone like Parker or Povetkin would be great.

I'm also pretty sure the Hardy/Serrano matchup is setting up a fight with Taylor towards the end of the year.

Someone suggested Hunter v Kow (if he gets by Kuzmin). I like that matchup.

I like it but they are saving Kow for Wilder

I don’t think that anyone has seriously overrated Hunter. I haven’t seen anyone claiming that he is any kind of world beater.

Are you suggesting that because most are picking him (with reservations) over Kuzmin that we are overrating him? Is that your roundabout way of picking Kuzmin?
Ive said I'd take him over Joyce. Ruiz before Joshua, though I'd still favor him over Andy not as wildly.

From my understanding all of those fights are finalized

True. I was just looking for someone who could rationally be argued to be overrating Hunter.

I guess that would do it if you don't think much of him.

I like Hunter. He has been on a nice roll since moving up to HW. I think that he will defeat Kuzmin but I don’t have any idea how far he can go in the division.

Tiny and Box_of_Rocks claim that a lot of people are overrating Hunter. I haven’t witnessed anyone overrating Hunter, including you, but you are the only one that I know of who believes that he could conceivably defeat a current belt holder.

Therefore I concluded that you must be who they have rationalized is overrating Hunter. :maybe:

TFKoB v Hunter would be competitive but if they fought this year I would take The Man.

I'll stand on that sword. Though this thread was the first time I've said it since he became champ. I really don't think he'd have much trouble either.

I just saw Andy bought a rolls and a mansion. Might see the first 300lb title defense.

It sounds like you might be grossly over-rating the current crop of HWs. While I wouldn't favor him over the current "belt holders", it's hardly a stretch to imagine him pulling off an upset over any of them. They're all terribly flawed and Hunter fights with true conviction.

Not really. I just want Hunter to take it a step at a time, stay focused and busy. I am not looking past Kuzmin. Hopefully, Hunter isn’t either.

Or he could be another Malik Scott with Kuzmin becoming his Glazkov.

I've seen kuzmin fight several times and of course his 'highlights.' I don't see how Hunter could lose this one.

 Well it is definitley going to be harder than his last fight against 39 year old Fabian Maldonado..That one was just easy pickings..

I agree. Just remember that Maldanodo went the distance with Teslenko and Rivas. Hunter ko'd him in two, his only loss by stoppage. And Dawejko won that fight against Kuzmin. I have no doubt going with Hunter.

Kuzmin needs to be way better than he was vs Joey. He needs that to have been his Liakhovich performance rather than a good representation of what he's bringing. He's always seemed rather basic to me though, Hunter should win but Kuz may be able to hurt him some.
