Strange move by Ebeneezer.
Surely he was not far off a fight with Tyson Fury?

The ref will probably be drafted in for a commonwealth shot these days

Pointless fight against a hapless crusierweight.
He’ll learn more in sparring than this fight. I’m all for taking it slowly with young prospects but Tetteh is bad even for a stay busy fight. DD might take him out in round one with a jab.

This will make four fights this year I think. He had a good opponent last time out and this is strictly for keep him in training and the ring. I have no issue with this one.

If it was his 15th fight I would be a little concerned.
Keep busy, mature, learn, grow into his man body and strength.
It's all good. I expect DD to have a few of these types for at least the next 3 years. Getting tougher guys to go rounds with would be better, but who knows what this Tutu bloke can bring. By the video, not a lot

Most HWs have their fair share of easy opponents. Mike Tyson fought a string of below par journeymen at the start of his career and was even fighting guys like Hosea and Boyd after 20+ fights.

As shitty as this fight is I'm okay with this type of stuff as long as 1. it comes after a good fight and 2. it's part of a busy schedule
Dub checks the boxes for that,
That said, man there have been some shitty guys contesting the commonwealth of late. It's basically now a belt a British a-side gets some crappy African brought in for. Area titles are a higher level as they usually at least have a semi decent prospect or known test who is coming to win.
Very true. The guy brought over from Ghana to fight Josh Wale in a Commonwealth eliminator recently had wins only against boxers with losing records and I recall was ranked something like #650-700 on boxrec.
-------
Is this going to be the show's main event? Very poor if that's the case.

Ya, it's like Prince Patel level opponent bad these days.

I've been saying (well, thinking) for years that the Commonwealth belt has become almost pointless. More often than not, it seems that we get Brit vs Brit matches, a sort of B-level British title. When we do get overseas opposition, they're lowly ranked, like this guy.
Most of the better Canadian and Oz fighters don't bother with it. South Africa seems to produce a fair number of very good/world class lighter weight fighters, few of whom fight for the Commonwealth title.
That said, I agree with Maggie, in that this fight is ok for Dubois. I like that he's being kept active, compared to earlier in his career.

True. If Wilder was on our radar in his 10th fight like Doobie is, we would have 20+ more dissapoining matches to wait through.

Ebenezer is going to get his head taken clean off. Hope he's working on his defensive skills based on that wild punch up.
Dubois is entitled to the odd gimme and poor Commonwealth opponents is nothing new, there has been some shockers over the past few decades.
Just hope the rest of the card is good for the sake of the paying fans.

That's a bit of a harsh assessment funso banjo baby.
For his age and the amount of fights Dubois has had so far he's doing well.
I don't think there is any deception going on. Granted, this fight with Tetteh could be where it all starts, but his Southern Area matches were acceptable, so was the match for the English title and the British title fight was fine too IMO. He started a big favourite in most of them, yes, but he's getting the build up treatment so it shouldn't come as a surprise.
You could well be proved right about Dubois not becoming world class, but one step at a time....and so far he's passing the tests impressively so far. That includes his stamina check when going 10 rounds with proven stayer Kevin Johnson.
I'd say for his age and stage of his career he's right on point.

Looking through Tetteh's record, he's unbeaten but to say he's been carefully matched would be an understatement, still he looks a puncher and you never know with these unknown unbeaten guys, occasionally you'll get one come over who can fight, the fella Lartey who Dubois beat knocked out recently was a bit dangerous before getting stopped
I thought Dubois boxed well against Gorman showed some nice fundamentals before taking Gorman apart, he showed his skills and power, cant see Warren's matchmaker setting Dubois up for a fall here, he should add that vacant Commonwealth title to his British no sweat

Warren's matchmaker is even more careful than Hearn's matchmaker. Dubois doesn't need to rush, I hope he makes a couple of defences of his belts, then move to EBU. Not straight after this.

Yeh I've no complaints about how their matching Dubois, he's already beat some solid fighters, Tetteh may or may not be much cop but it's a chance to win the Commonwealth and he's active, keep it up I say, he's still only a young pup

I don't mind him as an opponent for Dubois as he's still young & gaining experience, my issue is that this mismatch is being pushed as a main event. These sort of fights should be support acts, not headliners.

This fight lasts as long as Dubois wants it to, watched a number of Tetteh fights today, mostly taking place in a gym, he's extremely low level, Dubois should get him out of there in a round, it's up to him as to how he wants to approach it.
I get the matchmaking from a belt grab perspective, after this he needs to step back up again, whether that's EBU title or international titles, Joe Joyce is in line for the EBU, I would imagine Sam Jones isn't keen to match him up with Dubois anytime soon.
