He’s just gonna box behind his jab. Keep a distance with the jab. He’s gonna box how he did against Parker. Or how Lewis boxed against Tua. Play it safe and regain belts.
No more heavily favored than if it was to be in Cardiff.
Ruiz being quiet tells me that he has agreed to fight, but not the purse split. Eddie maybe have jumped the gun saying contracts have been signed, who knows. He reminds me of a combination of Amir Khan and Bob Arum. Dishonestly delusional, but can be a smart businessman too.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑10 Aug 2019, 12:41 Anyone else find it strange Ruiz hasn’t posted anything on his social media? To announce the fight?
I believe it will be officially announced on Monday.
Let’s not forget Ruiz has been at Tyson’s ranch recently, so he might be bit outta it right now.
Why?
He is known for being a fan of islam, he was visiting mosques and speaking with kind and respect about this religion, if he Still didn't converted i guess he will.
. . . in Wahhabiland or be less his head.dagilechia wrote: ↑12 Aug 2019, 13:29He is known for being a fan of islam, he was visiting mosques and speaking with kind and respect about this religion, if he Still didn't converted i guess he will.
Ruiz $9m and AJ $30m-$40m..Bandog wrote: ↑12 Aug 2019, 13:01Ruiz being quiet tells me that he has agreed to fight, but not the purse split. I've read things like Ruiz is getting $9 million and Joshua $60-90 million? If that is true, Ruiz won't agree to it. He at least deserves a 50-50 since he knocked out Joshua, and holds the belts. One could say the fight was a mismatch, in favor of Ruiz!
So now the negotiating should start. No way should Ruiz get such a small percentage considering he knocked AJ out. Draw in the UK, yes AJ is big, but Saudi Arabia, who knows. AJ being the bigger draw is a given, but when you are facing an opponent that KO'd you a little more than halfway through the fight you have to give a fair percentage. We'll here it is Ruiz's highest payday, blah blah, but that doesn't matter when you are in his position holding multiple belts. Imo, they need to at least double Ruiz's offer if it is only $9 million. Ruiz is much better off with a % split than a flat fee, especially if it ends up bringing close to $100 million total.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑12 Aug 2019, 13:46Ruiz $9m and AJ $30m-$40m..Bandog wrote: ↑12 Aug 2019, 13:01

Who knows. He might be getting some %.. but the $9m was on the first contract that Ruiz signed. “If he beats AJ, there will be a rematch and he will be guaranteed $9m.”Bandog wrote: ↑12 Aug 2019, 15:56So now the negotiating should start. A fighter should focus their efforts on attaining their physical athletic prime rather than focussing their efforts on achieving a certain aesthetic appearance.Quantrax wrote: ↑11 Aug 2019, 02:46 I've followed Ruiz since his early days as a pro and I've always wanted to see him get his weight down a level further. His lightest ever weight in the ring is 246 but I'd love to see him around 235, so that he can maintain his speed, movement and workfare, which are important skills for the Latino style. He debuted at 297 so he's done well to lose as much as he has but he's never taken the final step.
His coaches say they don't want him below 250 because he's lose strength but surely it can't be good when a fighter is visible carrying rolls of fat.
I wasn't talking about aesthetics, in fact it's odd that you took that as the point I was making.Enlightened-One wrote: ↑12 Aug 2019, 16:20A fighter should focus their efforts on attaining their physical athletic prime rather than focussing their efforts on achieving a certain aesthetic appearance.Quantrax wrote: ↑11 Aug 2019, 02:46 I've followed Ruiz since his early days as a pro and I've always wanted to see him get his weight down a level further. Ruiz Jr. seemed far more overweight during his teenage years, so perhaps there are limits to how “ripped” he’s capable of becoming, and I’m guessing that it would be impossible for him to achieve a physique like the prime versions of Kenny Norton or Evander Holyfield.
To be fair, Andy Ruiz Jr’s engine seemed vastly superior than the bodybuilding physique of AJ... and that fact shouldn’t be underappreciated.
