I have no idea why GGG should change HIS style of boxing..it has been impressive, spectacular as well as effective over the years..minor adjustments are probably necessary but generally speaking, you can't teach an old dog new tricks..

True. What G lacks is some defence and pacing. Also G should use more his left hook to the body more. That was a dangerous weapon.

I only know of Banks as a boxer and him taking over for Klit once Steward had passed. This is where we saw the decline of Klit which may just be a coincidence regarding K's age. Also though, many people have said K's performance against AJ was the best they had seen him in years so......
Until he proves himself further I'd rate Abel over him.
Abel is good at churning out pressure fighters. But that is a young mans style in my opinion.
Yup. But also let's not forget that G boxed pretty well against Lemieux, Jacobs and Canelo I.
G boxed well before even coming to the US.

It sounds like Loefler is being moved further to a side:

Yes. No doubt. He beat in the amateurs names like Nikola Sjekloća, Geale, Korobov, Andy Lee, Bute, Yordanis Despaigne, Oleg Mashkin and Andre Dirrell. So he was pretty good.

Interesting. G is doing some moves. Maybe we could see G vs BJS next year.

Resting is done? Seems like a very late camp start for October 5th fight.

There's what, 7 weeks till the fight, that should be plenty if he's staying in shape. Not everyone is Dill Whyte and asking for 4 month long camps.

G is a gym rat. He stays in good shape all the year round.

I am guessing they were negotiating details like a size of the good boy Derevo compared to GGG in this poster

Yes, Derevo is a very good fighter. Golovkin will need all he has left to beat him.
Korobov did easily outboxed both Derevo and Jacobs in amateurs.

Does anybody know about Eddie Hearn’s role and how it affects Tom Loeffler?
I can’t find much information about this situation.
Apparently the former K2 boss is still involved somehow, but I’m not sure why Gennadiy wants Eddie Hearn involved in a GGG Promotions event.

Hearn can provide a better undercard and actual promotion/PR than Loefler.
Also, I think that Golovkin realized that Canelo will keep postponing their fight, so he probably plans to fight one of Hearn's guys.

No idea what Banks is like overall as a trainer, but he's a shitty cornerman. Never gets in his fighter's head and offers no insights during the fight. Which leads me to believe that Banks is more of a fitness/training guy, rather than someone like Steward/Atlas/Roach who is going to tell you and train you to do exactly what you need to do to win. Not a good development.
Anyhow, at 37, perhaps Golovkin really doesn't need someone trying to teach him new tricks, he might just need someone to push him around in the gym and work his ass off.
Should be a good fight. I'd like to see Alvarez vs Golovkin 3.

Hearn is a more versatile promoter and a good talker to build up the hype of a fight.
GGG vs BJS would be a top fight. Actually I think people would want to see this fight more than a third fight with Canelo.

Great fight!
Probably GGG's armchair-detractors are praying and wish to see G getting beat in this fight. They were yapping about that G was avoiding Derevo back when G was fighting Vanes. lol

Two different level of fighters. GGG even at his extended age, he's a A class fighter, Derev is B+ at best, I think hes more like a B fighter. IMO Derv had success against Jacobs based on being a pressure fighter and making Jacobs a bit uncomfortable considering Jacobs is a thinking fighter. If Derev tries to put the pressure on Golovkin he's getting ktfo in 5 rounds, I can't think of a single thing Derev can do that GGG doesn't have in spades.
Not to mention the difference in experience. I expect a good scrap, but it will be noticeably one sided while it lasts.

Tom Loeffler, the long-time parter with GGG, who has been front and center for the run up the ladder to prominence for the middleweight all-time all-star, is indeed still aboard the Golovkin train.
