Definitely ranks among my all time favorite fights.

Bobby Chacon vs Bazooka Limon IV, Saad vs Yaqui Lopez 2...some of the few fights that are on par with this classic. Most can't measure up.

Wilfredo Gomez v lupe pintor is a pretty wild ride.

Corales vs castillo ran it close, and the first gatti vs ward (in terms of action if not skill). Benn vs McClellan will always be special for me.

Domestically Gomez vs Arthur, Macklin vs Moore and Brodie vs Chi

I bumped into Barrera in McDonalds in Victoria St once. I’d been to see him at the Albert Hall that night . Only went because Paul Lloyd used to train down the Lodge at the time . Could tell he was special, even though I know feck all about boxing.

I was like that as a kid when I went to a show in Manchester and Winky Wright picked apart Ensley Bingham in a masterclass, Bingham barely landed a punch on Wright.

Nothing definitive, but when I did a list years ago I think I had it 4th after saad/Lopez 2, Pryor/arguello & Vazquez/Marquez 3

Possibly yes but then for both of them to become professional, world class boxers around the same weight division and meet in a trilogy of fights is pushing it a bit I think, it would be good if it was true but it seems a bit Hollywood to me and the fact I've never heard that story before even when their rivalry was at it's most heated makes me very skeptical.

It seems their rivalry was mainly just from being from different sides of the tracks. Morales was a street kid, and Barrera was from an affluent neighbourhood in Mexico City.

Aye, I remember MAB called him — analfabeta (illiterate) - at a press conference and it kicked off there and then.

Just did a few days ago...11-1 for Marquez is just plain idiocy...my scorecard was posted... Marquez showed alot of heart and came back strong but did not win that fight..lucky? To get a draw,? Gimme a break....7-5 PAC....115-110..1 judge and Lederman had it right....if you wanted to say it was close I wouldn't have commented, but to say JMM won every round and the fight big is just plain wrong....

Yeah, too true, I only knew about it, because I bought a whole load of DVD's from a collector, who sent me a compilation of his ATG fights, and this was in it, anybody who hasn't seen it, I urge you do watch it, it's a pretty mental fight,.

The first fight is among the best fights I've ever seen. Incredible two-way action and high level skill at a fast pace. The second was very average but the third was fun. Not as great as the first but a worthy fight of the year and one of the era's better fights. Morales just didn't seem with it for the first half and then fought hard in the second half to make it fairly close. Barrera outclassed him over the first six.

I think Barrera was the better fighter. IMO he won fight I and III clearly and the closest fight in the series I gave to Morales, which was the second fight. In that fight when Barrera finally started to let his hands go and fought with more passion he got the better of a lot of it.

That's one of my favorite fights ever. Definitely in my personal top 10 favorite fights list.

I know it is an unpopular opinion but I thought Morales deserved the decision. It was a xlose fight but I felt Morales did just a little bit more and won by a point. 6 rounds to 5, 1 even for a score of 115-114.

I had Pac winning by a point, 113-112, certainly he wasn't lucky just to get a draw. The luckiest was by far Marquez with that judgee messing up the first round
