The closer we get to the fight, the more I think Spence will have an easy time of it.

The truth is that this thread title is silly because Spence is proven amazing and everyone knows it.

As good as Porter is, it's hard to imagine a way he wins this.

If I am l looking at betting odds correctly Spence is a 9 to 1 favorite, it takes a risk of $900 to win $100, sounds a little steep, I would make Spence more like a 4 to 1 favorite.

Not that Spence has got it easy, so far; and he is still a stylistically nightmare for Porter

lol What I was traing to say is that Porter won't be a walk in the park and the fight tend to be a pick'em type of fight.

Today I learned, that I have a dirty man-crush for Shawn Porter. He may be the greatest fighter of this current generation of boxers.

With all the stupidity we're seeing all over the sport where good fighters never meet inside the ring (or if they do it's to the "A-side's" benefit), it's refreshing to have a fighter like Porter. He's 30-3-1 and there's no fighter in the sport currently (except Pac) who can claim to have a record like his. Of Boxrec's & TBRB's current top 10 at Welterweight, he has fought 4 (2W-2L), I can't think of any top 10 fighter to have fought nearly half the top 10 of their weightclass.

I mean, Mayweather drained the shit out of Canelo, Canelo drained a semi-retired JC Chavez Jr., Cotto pulled a half-crippled Martinez under 160 for an easier fight, AJ shits his pants fighting outside of a 75k capacity stadium filled with his fans. All the "big names" for a while now have refused to engage serious competition without some edge/competitive advantage for fear of a loss and here we have Shawn Porter: as mentioned above, 4 of the top 10, without including fighters like Brook, Broner & Berto, all in their relative prime (maybe not Berto, but not sure Berto ever had a "prime").

I can't think of one of his big fights (Brook, Broner, Thurman, Garcia, Spence) that wasn't a barnstormer. Each one fascinating and fun to watch.

So I'm going to say that although he's not the best of this current era, he's the one who should be most appreciated and remembered. He gives the fans what they want, fights where the best meet and actually engage. Can you see a Porter fight letting people down like MayPac, Fury/Klitschko or LomaRigo (which broke my heart, 3 years of calling for the ultimate Olympic superfight and then nada, Loma's output and jab edging 6 incredibly dull rounds before the familiar "no mas").

Porter makes you fight his fight. He fights every minute of every round and he fights hard. No one likes stepping into the ring with Porter.
