I'm not defending the particular choice of opponent for last night but....

It was his 13th fight and he's just turned 22.

He's British and Commonwealth champion.

I think he's been moved pretty normally for his first 13 fights. Certainly tougher than most guys at this stage, with only a few notable exceptions.

Tetteh reminded me of Seldon vs Tyson.

I was going to say Tyson V Bruno 2, but I think Seldon is more accurate.

Tetteh did not want to be there & had mentally checked out of the fight during the pre fight introductions.

I don't agree. T. didn't appear to be hurt and he wanted to keep on fighting so what right did the ref have to stop the fight? And the lot of them were in on it. When the commentators explained the stoppage by saying T. "was in no condition to continue" they were lying. He appeared to be fine and wanted to keep fighting. Maybe the knockdown would have woken him up. I call bs.

He didn't want to keep fighting. He wanted out.

While being bored on a Saturday i looked into the lowest ranked undefeated heavyweights. With 15+ fights, unsurprisingly, it was (until yesterday) Tetteh at 371st. There were some notable others:
Markus Fuckner (11-0) at 402nd the lowest with 10+.
Sanel Papic (24-0) is the lowest with 20+ at 363rd. Then Marko Radonjic (20-0) at 297th.

Expect to see some of these guys in the WBO rankings or on Warren shows soon

I liked his selection of punches and the variety of his punches up close on Tetteh.

Tetteh had that deer in the headlights look coming into the fight, no mouthpiece is a telltale sign your corner isn’t much help, and I doubt he wanted much to do with that fight.

I know because he’s so young and has little amateur experience they don’t want to move him along but DDD has little to gain from this level of opposition...other than the almighty hype.

That's also not true. He didn't act like he wanted out. He didn't say thank you, referee and quietly walk back to his corner. In fact he was arguing with the ref. In fact he even pushed the ref. The ref had been instructed to jump in whenever he could to protect the house fighter or to stop it asap.

When Yoka, Hrgovic, Ajagba, Jalolov, Wilder, Joshua, Povetkin, Pulev, Ortiz, Klitschko, etc. were 22, they weren't fighting professionals ranked as well as Ajagba is today. It seems that you are trying to hold Dubois to a different standard than what everybody else has faced.

You've lost the plot

The ref gives T a count, he's standing up, looking about the same as he did before, raises his gloves just fine...and then after all that the ref stops it! Why?

He was wobbling sideways when he got up.

It wasn't a great stoppage, the guy went sidewards at first but was steady and had his gloves up ready to continue so should have been given the opportunity but I doubt he would have seen the round out anyway.

He was way out of his depth and was going to get repeatedly hurt.

Not his fault or the referee. The match up was poor. Those who decided he was eligible to fight for the Commonwealth title are to blame.

Insane to think that Tetteh could've offered anything more from that point other than about 4 more seconds of action and then getting waved off anyway. Ilya is seriously like "I just wanted him to get hit again. He's obviously got nothing to offer. He looks like he's about to cry. I just wanted him to get punched again." Tetteh couldn't even take 3 more punches if his life depended on it. 1 more punch and the fight gets waved off. 2 more punches and he goes down again and doesn't beat the count. Taking 3 more punches wouldn't have even been possible. Lasting another minute would've been impossible. Winning would've been impossible. Exposing some flaw in Dubois wouldn't have been possible.

I'd love to see him fight joe joyce next, jesus wtf are folk seeing in him that I ain't...stiff robot that is so slow u can read the paper before u parry his punches...he too will be found out when he steps up into 2nd gear
