i agree with the points made above:

ggg only has started having hard fights once the opposition was stepped up to the highest level
ggg took some nasty punishment in round 10 in particular and should be looking to wind up his career before he gets hurt long term
ggg is still a top level fighter, and showed a lot the other night, despite weaknesses.

he deserves another go at canelo, especially since the first 2 bouts were so close. it probably isn't worth him going on against other top contenders.
maybe an easy fight, see if canelo bites, then retire.

of course this is boxing so he will probably just keep going on and on.

Andy Lee agrees with the OP. He also says that Banks is not a good trainer for middleweights.

Why retire when GGG can still make good money fighting contenders? He can knock ten more Americans out, collect the cold hard cash, and then call it a day.

He's not calling it a day when he's still got 4 fight left on that huge contract. We will see him in with a few guys who are steps down from Sergey, and then he will step back up again and eventually lose. He will probably fight 2 more years.

Remember that Jacobs also only beat Sergey by split. Sergey is a good fighter so being around his level isn't too bad. GGG can manage some more fights, but yes he's fading for sure and he is a guy who gets hit.

Not only does he want his money but that contract is setting up his promotional company for when he does retire.
