Gennadiy Golovkin will likely be back in the ring in late March to defend his IBF middleweight title against mandatory Kamil Szeremeta challenger, according to Eddie Hearn.

He did beat Sally Canelo twice. Felicia Sturm, Sara Martinez, Andrea Ward and Carla Froch were scared of him during his prime.

Golovkin should retire on top as a champion. I don't want to see G getting beat. He's gonna be 38 y/o in four months.

I think hes fun to watch. Great jab, good punch, great chin, leaky defense.

He had a lot of defenses of his title but for some reason for him we count bogus regular wba defenses so he can tie a record.

For a guy who complained to no end he was avoided he sure has done a lot of cherry picking himself

How come a young-prime Canelo could not beat/defeat a 35 y/o past Golovkin-"the most overrated bottom feeder in boxing history" in their first fight ?

He needed to stay busy and take the best available fights for him when champions like Sturm, Martinez, Quillin, JCCJr, Cotto and also Canelo were "playing ostrich" back in the days.

Now that G got older and faded, suddenly he looks so appealing. lol

Opening odds place Golovkin (40-1-1, 35KOs) as a healthy 25-1 betting favorite—putting up $2500 just to win back another $100—on the assumption the bout takes place around the rumored time frame. Szeremeta has been slotted as a 10-1 betting underdog, meaning a $100 bet can land you another $1,000 in the event of an upset.

Initially, GGG’s fight was being targeted for Feb. 29 in Chicago. The bout will be the third of Golovkin’s three-year, six-fight, $100 million deal with DAZN.
