It's a hard fight for Alvarez to win when "goat boy" KO's your balls.... and referee likes it!

I don't think Ward is old enough for Canelo to want to fight him yet. He has to be at least 36, like Floyd, GGG, and Kovalev were.

Ward would have to cut a lot of weight and would be very rusty. Canelo will take him out.

According to Wiki his highest purse was $5m against Kov, he’d get easy $15 probably over $20 against Canelo, very hard to turn that down.
Yea very hard. Unless there’s some unknown or injury type thing, if Canelo wants him, it could happen.
He has well documented long term shoulder problems

Ok fair enough, must have missed my radar. 20 million though, he could buy a whole new bionic shoulder...

You could make this fight.
Compromises the brothers legacy around the weight though.
We all know Andre Ward won't come back ... right

You could build Ward v Canelo easily and set it up for May 2020

Ward would have to knock down Canelo 205 times to get a draw

It would be a interesting fight, but I feel Ward at 80% with no ring rust would whitewash Canelo. If Canelo couldn't do anything with little Floyd (not that I feel Ward is as good as Mayweather), he's not doing much with Ward.

Bad idea - won't happen unless Ward is broke.
And if he takes a fight like this in desperation, he'll lose.
Sad if it happens.

it could well do! ward hasn't ruled it out & never got a huge payday. dazn will want a big event if they can manage.
i could see it.
ward probably looks on canelo as a little, hyped up man. whilst canelo is pretty fearless & might fancy the scalp of ward for his legacy. it might make sense.

It'd probably go a long way in helping Canelo's legacy if one of his big wins could come without question marks.

He's not an old man. I wouldn't consider it a move of desperation if he were to take the fight.

It would still be less than a 100% taking into account positive drug tests and camp injuries.

Floyd drained Canelo who could barely make 154.
It would be funny if Floyd came out of retirement, offered Canelo $100 mil, drained him to caneloweight of 155 and whooped half dead "face of boxing".

155 plus weigh in morning of the fight rehydration clause no more than 160.
pre ring weigh in no more than 165.

CANELO LOST the first FIGHT VS GGG.
WARD LOST the first FIGHT VS KOVALEV.
MAYWEATHER LOST FIGHTS: 2.
without a doubt.
would be interesting if somebody puts the records straight and puts out the actual records of the top fighters of the last decade.
if a fight was objectively to close to call, call it a draw.
some stellar records would look drastically different.

THIS. STELLAR.
.... and i’d add on that I scored the second GGG/Canelo fight for GGG, regardless of the “story” of the fight, he effectively outboxed him.

I guess you could say Floyd "drained" Canelo to 152, but it was Canelo's fault. When you go after a welterweight, and weigh 153 in your last bout, publicly saying he would drop to 150 for the fight, Floyd actually did him a favor by him coming up 5lbs and Canelo down 2lbs. Floyd also had a weight disadvantage when he fought Oscar, having to fight at 154, making 1/2 as much as Oscar.
What Floyd and Canelo did to kick off their PPV status into the big bucks paid off, even if they would have preferred not to have weight stipulations to get it. By the way, Floyd dominating Canelo had nothing to do with the weight. The skill gap was too wide for that to matter.

he doesn't need money ???so he still has to comment on the game somewhere?he hadn't made much money throughout his career..sorry my english
If I had millions of dollars I still wouldn't sit around and do f*ck all. Commentary's a good gig if you're a retired boxer and still like the sport. It's not like it's a 9-5 or anything. Besides, Ward used to be into drink and drugs before boxing saved him: that's why he had quite a serious boring personality. He's not the type to sit around in clubs with cocktails sniffing his money and sexually assaulting escorts. I'd imagine him working still in some way no matter how much money he'd made.
