I love his punditry and he seems to have matured into a really nice guy, but I don't remember him being this popular throughout his actual career. Actually, most people seem to think he was a bit of a smug prick

He can be hit and miss, he was bad in the Cheeseman Fitz fight

He's more of a wing man anyway, which suits his style.

He certainly wasn't short on confidence. Apparently he was a nightmare to train and went through a shitload of trainers didn't he? I remember him saying he could've beaten Craig Docherty, Willie Limond and Burns on the same night and that didn't go down too well...

I remember when Alex Arthur was soundly beaten by Nicky Cook, even Jim Watt had Arthur losing easily on Sky commentary.

During the interviews he was talking about them going out with their wives for a meal etc etc. What a great guy Nicky was, congratulations etc.

Then afterwards he said that "the english judges robbed him" and he actually won.

"I really think that they robbed me of my title, I really do," the 30-year-old said. "It was three English judges - in England."

He didn't turn up that night. He rocked Cook late but was too little too late. Very disappointing performance.

Major Weight Drainer that caught up with him in end for that cook fight.
absolutely blasted his way through British Title level till Gomez , then he tried to reinvent himself ( or sky kept saying) as a more defensive boxer,

Against cook he looked terrible and really struggled to get anything happening , think that was one he had Wayne Mccolluch in his corner and was spouting some pish in the corner to Wayne about God in later rounds when he was trying to get his instructions through :witzend:

I don't think he liked Harrison having the limelight and wanted to headline his own shows , says his back was hurting so couldn't drive through to Glasgow each day for training.

Really did look a great prospect though and even though he won what he did , feel he could've done more.
Sky always used to love him though and use him as pundit back when he was boxing aswell.

Gomez demolished him that night, can remember watching it on the telly, i would have to say that was probably the most exciting fight I've ever watched live after Benn v McClellan

One of the lads in our Amateur gym (James Rooney) challenged him publicly by writing a letter to the Boxing News.

Alex Arthur responded (Turned the fight down) but I remember the reply letter from Arthur was put up on the in the gym and it was signed "Amazing Alex Arthur"

it should never be three of the same english judges in a world title fight in England, same in scotland, wales etc with having three scottish, welsh etc ... it should be a mixture from other countries like any normal world title fight.

I agree. But he still lost the fight in my opinion.
