That’s a big call - how ? And why ?

With 'the big 3’ being so much bigger - and with such different strengths - surely ONE of them beats Usyk ?

Usyk for all his quality ate shots vs Bellew. Tony Bellew. Drink that in...

He also ate plenty of leather against Breidis.

Joshua can find him, no doubt. If Usyk can take the power and has no difficulty with the size difference, he can win. Not only against Joshua but against the other two as well.
I don’t think he can though. He’s not super slick defensively, far from it. Doesn’t hit hard enough either imo. It’s a shame because if he did, he’d beat them all with surprising ease. He’s so much better at boxing than all three put together
Completely agree that Usyk is the better boxer out of all of them.
If the AJ of Saturday night turned up against Usyk I think he would need a big helping hand from the judges. He boxed smart but was very cautious and didn't commit to much. I think that style plays in the hands of Usyk and the only real concern I'd have is how his chin holds up to AJ's power. If it passes the test then AJ would be in trouble

None of them should fight Usyk at their sort of range imo, not even Fury. I think Fury might actually have the most difficulty with the Ukrainian because he doesn’t have the power to deter Usyk.

Joshua and Wilder of course, would need to put it on him.

I actually give wilder the best chance of beating Usyk. I don't think he could stay out the way for the full 12 without getting caught

Why? I think Usyk is plenty good enough to get close to and get shots off against Tyson

I just think fury is Taller and more importantly longer and rangier, and on top of that despite being a good 5 inches taller than Usyk. I think hes actually quicker on his feet and generally moves better, despite Usyk being strong in that area himself.

I couldn't see Bellew having the kind of success he had against Usyk, against Fury for instance.

Usyk won't fight big/strong HWs like he fought Bellew, he was coming forward vs Bellew and Briedis. Vs Witherspoon and in his WSB fights vs Joyce, Nistor, and Majidov he was boxing and moving, same as he did vs an offensive threat in Gas.

I can see how Fury would be difficult given that he can back foot and box himself and that he's so much longer

To be fair, Bellew is a solid counter puncher, and Usyk adopted an evidently very effective strategy of high guard whilst walking him down (putting Bellew under constant psychological pressure) so on the one hand Usyk was there to be hit, on the other hand I doubt he adopts the same strategy for the top heavy weights. But I guess we will learn more when he has his next few fights.

Interesting call on the footwork. I'm a Fury fan, but I think Usyk has incredible footwork.

I'm still leaning toward one of Joshua, Wilder, Fury coming out on top, though. With a slight edge to Fury.

An interesting thing for me for Usyk at heavyweight is that formerly he was happy to absorb shots on his guard. Trying that at Heavyweight I could see him getting into situations where he's getting knocked around by heavier fighters.

Did you really see Bellew having success against Usyk lefty? Never seen that myself. He got measured, allowed to throw some ineffective punches till Usyk had his timing then finished with ease. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I think you're underrating Bellew a bit there. He did give Steveson probelms, he ain't that bad and he could bang

It's just that when you look at the judges scorecards at the time of the knockout- Bellew was up on two of them and was drawing on the other, and two of the judges were non British.

I've seen other scorecards that were by BS that had it similarly.

WBO gets dropped, its the sh*ttest belt, fighting someone who, at the very least will make AJ look amateur at times, even the money is only slightly better than Pulev, and a lot worse than Fury/Wilder.

Its yours Usyk, so long as the vacant is fought vs a Matchroom fighter, Dereck or Dillian (if not reinstated by the WBC).
