Considering Canelo-Jacobs woud have been primtime in the US... Whereas Ruiz-AJ would have been 3pm in the afternoon.

Wonder how many watched Canelo-Kovalev.
The US still wouldn't have enough subscribers to pay for one Canelo fight. Better? Yes, successful? No
The subscribers they want will continuously be paying via monthly or longer deal subscriptions. They want people who are going to pay for years for them to bring them fights. They have outright paid premiums on fights to gain market share. That is part of their plan. Canelo is a major part of that.

It is not just subscribers for these fights. There are many other sponsorship and promotional deals going on. There is TV revenue coming in from all over the world throwing in on these fights. There is the live gate component. Then like we just saw in Saudi Arabi....if some prince or some other hot shot has money to burn they whip out their wallet and do so in order to host some of the bigger events. This project is spending lots of money but it is also about capturing lots of money. They are well on their way to being a permanent mega money player in boxing and sports in general. These are not run of the mill dummies who are putting this together. They are sharp and they will make a lot of money and memories doing what they are doing.

That's great and all, but do you really believe DAZN are getting the site fee? That tends to go to the promoter abd fighters, not the broadcaster.

Sharp people make awful decisions day to day, look at Ted Baker as an example of that right now
