George Chaplin is a good barometer. Dokes beat him 8-2ish, Cooney stopped him early and George soundly beat Greg twice.

Not this again. Page won both fights closely, though the second could have been a draw. Jimmy Young was also a good barometer and Greg did better than Michael against him.

Dokes was the better fighter and had more power. I always wondered how good he could've been if not for his out of ring exploits. Page was always an afterthought to me. He had his moments early on, but proved to be mediocre.

Great skills? Hell no. He had good hand speed and a good chin. Power probably better than his skills.

Dokes had more talent than Page but blew it away.

Just getting back on topic. So Spinks is sufferring from prostate cancer. Reports are now saying his health is steadily improving.

Dokes was more serious about the game, but Page had more talent and power. Dokes was criticized early on for his punching ability. Cooney and Page were the Steve Stipanovich and Ralph Sampson of wasted talent. Dokes was the Sam Bowie of wasted talent.
