If Loma wins all the belts I think he stops caring about them too. Rightfully so, if your the accepted bet fight the big names not mandatorys.

I think the main event won't disappoint either. Furious George is going to give Selby a hard night with plenty of action.
Putting my fanship aside, I still see this as a 50/50. Sure Selby has loads more experience, but if he comes in with anything less than 100%, we could see an upset as the younger, lower milage Kambosos Jr piles on the pressure. There has been a decent investment in George over the last 10 months, so it's not just me that sees something in him.

In a predictable move, Matchroom Boxing has postponed their three cards in May, effecting Dillian Whyte vs. Alexander Povetkin, Lee Selby vs. George Kambosos Jr, and Oleksander Usyk vs. Dereck Chisora.
The three Matchroom cards for May had to be rescheduled because of the COVID 19 pandemic, and there’s the possibility they could be postponed again.
These are the new dates for 2 of the 3 postponed cards@

In line with the latest BBBofC and Government guidelines relating to COVID-19, Matchroom Boxing have taken the decision to reschedule their events due to take place in Newcastle on Saturday June 27th and Cardiff on Saturday July 11th, while the event taking place at Manchester Arena on Saturday July 4th has been cancelled.
Subject to the developing situation, Lee Selby’s IBF Lightweight World Title Final Eliminator against George Kambosos Jr at the Motorpoint Arena Cardiff has been rescheduled to Saturday October 3rd, while Lewis Ritson’s clash with former World Champion Miguel Vazquez at the Utilita Arena Newcastle has been rescheduled to Saturday October 17th.
Tickets will be valid for the rescheduled dates in Cardiff and Newcastle or refunds will be available from your point of purchase. Ticket refunds for the cancelled Manchester event will be available from your point of purchase.

Heading To Purse Bid
The matter is now back in the hands of the sanctioning body who first called for the bout.
"On December 19, 2019 the IBF ordered # 3 ranked Lightweight Contender George Kambosos, Jr. and # 4 ranked Lightweight contender Lee Selby to begin negotiations for an Elimination Bout for the # 1 and Mandatory ranking in the Lightweight division," Daryl J. Peoples, president of the IBF noted in an official letter to all registered promoters on Thursday, a copy of which has been obtained by BS.com. "An agreement could not be reached within the time frame set forth by the IBF.
"The IBF is ordering a Purse Bid in these offices on Tuesday, September 1, 2020."
The appeal of such a fight is that the winner will be first in line for the now scheduled World lightweight championship between unbeaten IBF titlist Teofimo Lopez (15-0, 12KOs) and unified WBA/WBO titlist Vasiliy Lomachenko (14-1, 11KOs), which is tentatively set to take place October 17 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Kambosos (18-0, 10KOs) earned his place in line for a shot at the lightweight title on the undercard of Lopez's official coronation. The unbeaten contender from Sydney, Australia outlasted former titlist Mickey Bey over 10 rounds last December at Madison Square Garden in New York City. The bout took place hours before Lopez violently snatched the IBF crown with a 2nd round knockout of exiting titlist Richard Commey.
Mere days later came the order from the IBF for Kambosos to enter talks with Selby (28-2, 9KOs), a former featherweight title claimant from Barry, Wales who has since established himself as a lightweight contender. Selby claimed two wins at the new weight in 2019, outpointing Omar Douglas over 12 rounds last February and then going on to top former three-division title claimant Ricky Burns last October. Both wins took place at the O2 Arena in London.
The threat of a purse bid hearing was previously removed when representatives for Kambosos (Hall of Fame promoter Lou DiBella and manager Peter Kahn) and Selby (Eddie Hearn, managing director of Matchroom Boxing) were able to work out a deal before the imposed deadline. The fight was due to take place May 9 at Motorpoint Arena in Cardifff, Wales, only for the event to be postponed due to the ongoing global health crisis.
Hearn and the Matchroom team spent most of the spring working feverishly to salvage all of its previously scheduled events in the United Kingdom. With that came a new offered fight date for this fight, which was targeted for July 11 and then pushed back to October 3 in order to give the event a chance to take place with fans in attendance.
Since then has come a request for both sides to take a paycut, with the absence of a live gate impacting resources. As previously reported by BS.com contributor Dan Rafael, Kambosos and his team were not at all pleased with the concept of accepting a $100,000 payday from an earlier guaranteed $150,000 fight purse. It was suggested at the time that the move meant the fight was cancelled altogether, though not at all the case.
As the highest ranked available contender, Kambosos' team sought protection from the IBF to ensure a title eliminator was still in play, regardless of the opponent. The argument was posed that the refusal to move forward with the revised offer was a breach of the original contract which allowed both sides to previously offer a purse bid hearing.

“Lomachenko definitely has flaws I can see. There is a lot of flaws. He is pound for pound number one. But to be the best you must beat the best. Even Pacquiao had said when Lomachenko came out and said he wanted to fight Pacquiao. Manny said who is this guy? You can fight him George. You can beat Lomachenko. I am very confident. “I am training with Mick Akkawy in Sydney and I have my American team in Miami. Mick Akkawy and Javiel Centeno in Miami. I have sparred eighty rounds with Australian middleweight fighters. Big heavy solid guys. The American Team is looking forward to me doing the business. Javiel Centeno is a fantastic coach. I am the kind of fighter that loves to continue to learn. Every day I am learning more and more. We are ready. We are looking forward to bringing the whole camp together. Selby is the biggest fight for any Australian fighter this year. “I am training with Mick Akkawy in Sydney and I have my American team in Miami. Mick Akkawy and Javiel Centeno in Miami. I have sparred eighty rounds with Australian middleweight fighters. Big heavy solid guys. The American Team is looking forward to me doing the business. Javiel Centeno is a fantastic coach. I am the kind of fighter that loves to continue to learn. Every day I am learning more and more. We are ready. We are looking forward to bringing the whole camp together. Selby is the biggest fight for any Australian fighter this year. You got to think what comes out of this fight. I am going into someone’s backyard to fight another former world champion. I did it with Mickey Bey and now with Lee Selby. Then we got Lomachenko
“There is no other Australian fighter doing that. The only other guy I have to take my hat off to is Jason Moloney who is fighting Naoya Inoue. It’s a ballsy move and you must give credit to Moloney. It’s a tough fight but you must back your fellow Aussie.”

“Tim Tszyu’s win over Jeff Horn was a good domestic win. It was good for Australian boxing. I look forward to seeing if Tim fights in the US. To fight some real international fighters. I feel Jeff had one fight too many. I think it’s time for him to retire. It was a good win for Tim. He done very well. I wish him all the best in his next move. We boxed hundreds of rounds together (when both trained at Tszyu Academy Gym) He has always been a very talented fighter. Obviously the bloodlines with (father) Kostya, I am looking forward to seeing the next step. What happens when Tim comes up against the top international guys who are young and hungry.

Lee Selby will take on George Kambosos Jr in a Final Eliminator for the IBF Lightweight World Title on the undercard of the blockbuster Heavyweight clash between Oleksandr Usyk and Derek Chisora on Saturday October 31, live on Sky Sports Box Office in the UK and DAZN in the US.
The pair were due to meet in Selby’s native Wales at the Motorpoint Arena Cardiff earlier this year in May before the ongoing coronavirus pandemic forced the event to be postponed, but the rivals now have a chance to lock horns following a spicy build-up over the past few months.
Selby (28-2, 9 KOs), a former IBF Featherweight World Champion, edged out Scottish legend Ricky Burns via a majority decision at The O2 in London last October to stay in line for another World Title shot and now finds himself within touching distance of becoming a two-weight World Champion.
Kambosos Jr (18-0, 10 KOs), hailing from Sydney in Australia, defeated former World Champion Mickey Bey on away territory at Madison Square Garden in New York last time out to announce himself as a rising star of the Lightweight division and has vowed to ‘retire’ Selby.

I’m too fussed by Selby now.
He had loads of momentum when he won the title but when he signed a deal with Haymon Eddie didn’t invest as much as he had previously in him and he fought several average opponents before Warrington. Hopefully he was well paid.
It’s surprising how much they paid for his fight against Kambosas Jr. It’s a pretty good fight but is anyone going to buy the PPV to watch it?! Probably not. If it was a main event in Cardiff I’d be surprised if it sold many tickets.

Tszyu has potential, I saw the Brubaker fight and was quietly impressed.
He needs his manager to reach out and get Tim some fights outside of Australasia and see how good he actually is.

I do not think Selby is finished, really. Featherweight almost killed him, he is a natural lightweight, just takes it easy when he finds himself in comfortable situations. Kambosos will pressure him well.

This. He stayed for too long at a prohibitive weight class.
