50/50 fight for me. Slight edge to Ruiz due to his chin. I wish Whyte actually had the boys to fight Ortiz before he gets to be 45.

I think Dillian Whyte is due for another title shot. He’s put together a pretty respectable streak since he lost to Joshua years ago. If he beats Ruiz then he should definitely be the next man in line

What do you mean another title shot?
He has never fought for a world title

You’re right. My bad. The Joshua fight wasn’t for a world belt

I keep reading on other forums the same thing. Not trying to bust your chops.
He should of had one by now but he has turned down 2 chances to fight Joshua and refused a final elimination numerous times.
Strange situation by Whyte.

No it’s cool. I don’t mind being corrected. Got my time lines confused. And I didn’t realize he passed up Joshua’s offers. If he did then that’s his fault. Shame really. He’s certainly one of the more qualified contenders at least in my opinion.

Is Hearn talking about matching them in an all-you-can-eat contest?

Both were disgracefully obese for their last fight. Professional athletes should always make an attempt to stay in decent shape.

I would pick even the obese version of Ruiz to beat Whyte.

Great fight, I think Parker Whyte and Ruiz are all of similar level. This would complete the matchup trifecta - I'd probably go with Ruiz KO given Whytes performance vs Wach - looked like he couldn't be bothered.

What compounds would Whyte require to beat Ruiz?
All he needs is in the meat of uncastrated wild Miller.

On more serious note...

Whyte gets too easily drawn into firefight. Firefight with Andy only goes one way and the last man standing won't be Whyte.

Sounds reasonable and might just end with Whyte grabbing and running. Trying what AJ did or something.

Well when Whyte faced Joshua they both were novices. Neither were the fighters they are now.
Not sure Ruiz would be his toughest opponent, but its possible

Would be a great and surprising matchup.

Good heavyweight fights every year. Hearn is doing something right.

Both guys, you wish would devote more time to conditioning and eat healthy.

Ruiz said he started puttin on weight when he landed in Saudi. Probably had too many shawarma's lol

What's Dil's excuse? Unless it's a meaningful fight, he won't lose weight.
From what I've read, the problem started before that, he'd been partying since winning the belts.

I really hope this happens because I don’t see many advantages for Whyte, although it’ll be priced fairly evenly. Big betting opportunity.

On a side note it’s a pretty awful fight for Whyte to have to take, yet another gruelling fight that isn’t for a title. There has to be an easier path for him

Aweful fight? Like someone pointed out, he ran from two final eliminators that would have put him in perfect position. Now after pissing hot for PEDS, he should be thankful he isn't sitting for two years and just fight any top ten guy he can. (as long as it isn't Ortiz, the boogy man!)

Well, I just hope Dillian will not try to get involved into some savage exchanges, especially against Ruiz; sure he has a chin on him but tends to punch himself out and get uncoordinated

I think that savage exchanges against Ruiz would be the path to loss for every HW, even Wilder, and I am sure that Whyte (and his team) knows this fact very well.

Pretty much how I feel about the match up.

Would still rather see Whyte against Ortiz or Povetkin.

There's a reason why Hearn is pursuing the matchup.

He thinks the same thing.
