Ryan Garcia is not an Tanks level yet. Let’s put the kid up against one of Tanks most recent opponents (Ricardo Nunez, Hugo Ruiz, Jesus Cuellar) And see how he fares.

I feel that Tank has a target on his back primarily because of his consistent failures to make weight. Potential opponents view that as him being lazy and unprepared prior to his fights and want to expose that in the ring.

His next fight is against a former Tank opponent in Francisco Fonseca.

They both can beat journeymen, and comparing how they did it is not a good measuring stick.

Wtf is that? More excuses? Tanks resume isn't something impressive.

Garcia would easily beat all of those guys. Ruiz's best work was at 118 and 122, Cuellar is undersized and should retire, and Nunez ain't much at all. Fonny is better than all of them at this point.

Spot on. It doesn't mean nothing if you KO some washed up stiffs in few rounds. Although Davis need 12 rounds to stop an old, washed up, injured Gamboa.

I think it would no take 12 rounds for R.Garcia to stop an injured, old Gamboa. :TU:

So whats a measuring stick if facing the same opponents isn't.

Actually the best 'measuring stick' is to fight each other. :box: :OhYes:

Or at least fight better opponents.

So, what? Tank likely wasn't motivated against Gamboa or wanted to work on something or had some agreement.

Comparing performance against the same opponent can lead to ridiculous results. For example, Stevens went 8 rounds against GGG and landed some good shots in the process, while Lemieux impressively destroyed him in 3. Lemieux must be better than GGG then.

Ryan Garcia's got a different style than most fighters and he looked very impressive against Duno and I think he'll take out Fonseca quickly as well. He's gonna be COREelite in a years time when he beats Tank. Tank's really good but Ryan's quicker and taller and is being trained by one of the best in the biz. There's not many COREelites out there. He'll be one along with Canelo, Spence, Pacman, Loma and ?. Charisma goes a long way when you have skills to back it up.

You have a point but you also makeing excuses. Davis wasn't motivated is a trait similar to when Broner was struggling with lesser guys and guys was saying he wasn't motivated. Of course it ending up being that was Broner's level and guys was just make excuses for him. Hopefully Davis isn't the same according to the resume it was actually less than Broner was when a he made the same amount of defenses of his title.

I am not making excuses. I have never been high on Davis. I just think that he is clearly more skillful and mature boxer than Garcia.

Tank won 10 of 11 rounds vs Gamboa, dropped him thrice, and stopped him. Come on now, it wasn't that bad of a performance.

Obivously I can't disagree with your opinion of each. I will just say I think much higher of Garcia than you do and think he will be considered a bigger star than Davis at some point in his career.
