What annoyed me the most about him is the fact he was apparently quite friendly with a few guys on boxing Twitter and once he went with IFL he blocked them and changed his views completely and started tounging the balls off the people he'd been slating for years

I do feel a bit sorry of his careers ruined for comments made when he was young lad but trolls get what they deserve really, Twitter is insane for trolling, no matter how nice the person is tweeting or what they're tweeting about theres always some bampot with a snide comment

Maccarinelli is one of the soundest guys on Twitter regularly interacts with fans and is a good laugh but theres constantly someone giving him grief, theres no need for it

Just because you come across nice on camera/social media, doesn't mean you are nice in real-world, saying them things even at 16 isn't a good sign. It becomes a business decision to get rid of him. could hurt IFL sponsors and views.

Having seen him showing off his watch like an utter plank, i cant really have any sympathy.

If you know anything about scousers then you would know there is absolutely no way he will be forgiven for the tweet. He could have written it as a toddler and still not be forgiven.

In terms of an interviewing career, his best bet is probably to team up with Tyan Booth at this point and do the odd video with booth here and there where they talk boxing. They could probably get some names on their show make a few quid. Booth would also be providing protection for Umar as anyone wanting to have a pop would have to fancy their chances of starching Booth first.

He wrote it years ago as a kid to be fair, what happens if he gets a job in an office are they supposed to sack him too, it’s ridiculous

I find it incredible that people care about what that nobody does. He is irrelevant in boxing.

If I recall, Davies' comments made it seem like he was totally ignorant of the Hillsborough stuff, at least the Sun's involvement. Whereas this Umar fellow was just going straight for the issue and seemed to be stirring it up. Prob just a troll-ish type who didn't expect it to matter some years later

Agreed, sounds like he was on the wind up. I'd cut the lad some slack if i was in Kugans position, just make sure he has grown up since and has his nut screwed on now, but doubt that Kugan will, i think he has already tweeted his employment has been terminated with immediate effect.

It won't come down to Kugan's personal decision it will come down to a business decision ie what IFL sponsors think and probably Matchroom. Won't be kept on if it cost IFL 6 figures in sponsors, ads etc.

I wonder if Tyan will bang his nice sexy girlfriend when she leaves him....

Got to laugh at Kugan really , taking the high ground when he's been taking MTK money for years .

It's incredibly unfortunate but it seems very unlikely he'd be able to carry out the job in the same manner anymore so he no doubt will get the boot. The glee with which some people get these things is hugely embarrassing though. He was basically 17yo when these tweets are from. Sad more than anything else.

Never heard of him but this is a perfect example of why I left the sport and journalism in general a while ago . No disrespect to those boxing/sports writers/journos but this is what happens when untrained 'journalists' are let loose with a camera and a dictation phone. Of course I know the profession has changed and I changed with it. But in my day we had to go to college/University and work our way up on the local papers and radio stations. We were trained properly and respected boundaries but that does not happen nowadays.

That said I trained and worked with some excellent young sports journalists over the years and am very proud of them so there are some really good young and talented people in the profession as well. I just wish boxing promoters PR companies would vet people properly
