. Anyway, I looked it up and it's Black History Month (which nobody gives a f*ck about in the UK apart from maybe some white girl who runs the student bar in an art college)
Nobody except the thousands of black people who live here and those of us who aren't right wing bellends that is.
Yeah nice try. I’m not a right wing bellend and I know plenty of black people; all through my life most of the people I work with have been black and I and have black family and nobody mentions it. I’ve always voted labour and have been a nurse and a teacher and currently work with gangs in London.

So f*ck off.

I think a lot of you are way too focused on the commentary team, instead of the Great Fight that was at hand.

I personal like both fighters. I was sad to see one of them lose, but someone had to lose. This night, Deontay got his equilibrium messed up and was not the same after that. Credit Tyson for landing one good shot to make that happen! Fury deserved it, because he has fought his way back from being 420 lbs at one point, and is now a heavyweight champion of the world!!

I am hoping Fury will be able to remain in a happy state of mind, and that Deontay will recover from what ever injury he suffered, and perhaps we will see a 3rd fight between them. I would hope that Deontay would work on his defensive skills, and improve his jab and use it more in his future fights. If Deontay doesn't try to improve in these areas, I see Fury beating him in the 3rd fight as well.

But sorry folks, I didn't look for any racism during the fight night, and I myself enjoy listening to what Lennox Lewis has to say, as I did with George Foreman, and any other credible heavyweight champion from the past. They have been there, enjoyed success, and have earned the right to have their voices heard.

I watched it with the UK commentary and then when I rewatched it with the US commentary on my own I was struck by how bad it was. I also brought up the ring-walk because the racial element of it wasn’t even discussed in the UK commentary as far as I was aware and making race a focal point of a boxing match to me was horribly misjudged. To the lad who thinks I’m some Nazi for so much as questioning it, I’ve been working in Brixton with an almost all-black team for the whole month and the first I heard about it was re-watching the fight the next morning. Thank God the racial tension they have in America doesn’t exist to the same extent in the U.K. you were the one that insulted me and I’ll have a chat with everyone tonight during my 12 hour night shift, OK? I don’t see anything wrong with being proud you’re black and understanding your history but it really isn’t that big a thing over here. Don’t you think I’d have noticed by now? Have a think before you start dishing out insults. And like I said, if I’m not busy tonight I’ll discuss it with you sensibly like a man in private message form. I’m tired of reading pointless squabbles on this forum. Nobody wants to read it and it derails threads.

And I’m all over the forum saying how great I thought the fight was anyway.

The black power ringwalk was cringe worthy at the least , I'd call it pretty offensive myself
I missed his ring walk. What was it all about? That monotoned bird that was on the American commentary was a pain in the balls...
He was being rapped to the ring with a song that was saying sh*t like (I'm paraphrasing, but this is about right)

"Take black medicine, eat black food, Drive Black, Ride Black, Black everything. Black Trucks, Black Tux, Black everything. Hail Black Jesus, Hail Black Moses, Black Church, Black shoes, Black everything"

That was the gist of it.

All in all it kinda reminds me of Hopkins infamous "Won't never let a white boy beat me" comment before losing to a White boy. It's almost like blatant racism works against you in a fight.

Almost like Karma.

Having a history month almost seems insulting. Blacks are such a huge fundamental part of the US for example, should they really have their history shoved into February?

You are spot on Clop and if roles had been reversed and a Caucasian fighter had come out to a similar veined them I'd have been disgusted ( along with millions of others I suspect )
I just don't get it , we all need to build bridges not knock them down .

Funniest bit of the American commentary was the explanation of the word " dosser " .
I thought growing up a dosser was somebody that was workshy ? I don't think that was what the geezer said .

It's pretty ridiculous to talk negatively about US commentary when in the UK you are having to sit through Adam Smiths horrible commentary. Can Smith please retire and f*ck off from british boxing

Supposedly, "Dosser" is a made up word by Tyson Fury. Maybe it existed before, but in Tyson's head, he created it. And as far as the definition of the word "Dosser" according to Tyson Fury.... well, you'd have to ask him.

:bag: :box: :bag: :box: :bag:

And remember people... A lot of the hype leading up to a big heavyweight showdown like this one against Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury, is mainly "showmanship". They each want to do their own thing, which they hope gets them highly motivated for the fight at hand, and also gives their fans something to cheer for. I myself don't put much stock into what some rapper is saying during the walk out. Heck, we could barely hear the audio in the loud bar we was in. But anyways, to me.... it's all mainly for show and entertainment.

If a job's "a doss" then it's basically really easy and mainly involves doing nothing.

It's like calling somebody a waste of space.
