the first name that came to my head was your man Jersey Joe
what a truly lovely boxer to watch
the final exchange between Walcott and Louis in their second fight is one of history's greatest

Mike Weaver was a hell of a fighter and a worthy champion.

at his best he would've given all the "double digit losses champs" mentioned here as tough a fight they could handle, ezz charles, jersey joe, even head holy.

a frikkin disgrace how king robbed him of his chance to defend his belt against dokes... dokes was feriocious in there but it was 100% corruption and a paid off ref with an ordered stoppage at first chance.

Ambling Alp II wrote: 10 Mar 2020, 15:39 It looks like there has been 9 of them:
Johnson, Schmeling, Sharkey, Carnera, Baer, Braddock, Charles, Walcott and Holyfield.

It's kind of interesting that 5 of the 9 were the champions the period between Tunney and Louis.
Don't forget Leon Spinks also had double digit losses. Though he is far from the best of the bunch
HERCULES WEAVER

I was just counting real champions, not WBS title holders. If you count them, then you have Weaver and probably a few other guys. Jimmy Ellis and Trevor Berbick would be a couple more.

Yep, Leon was.
Bonecrusher Smith, Tony Tubbs, Greg Page are more WBS guys with 10 or more losses. Probably more.
