I really hope this fight doesn't happen.
Golovkin will give it his all and he will hang in there, but he is slipping each time he fights.
I think Alvarez will eat him up and win widely this time.
It would be a real shame for Golovkin to end up as cannon fodder for Alvarez, especially considering it took so long for the first fight to happen and when it did, Golovkin got robbed.

Fighters tend to go out on losses anyway, better it be at the highest level

Golovkin is on the decline.
Canelo is improving.
A late stoppage victory for the Mexican is feasible, but the most likely result would be a comfortable decision victory, without any controversy this time, though GGG’s fans will subsequently bemoan the fact Canelo beat a "shot" fighter (even though they won’t feel he’s currently shot at the moment).
It’ll be a sad day when GGG is comprehensively defeated, because I’ve always liked him, I consider the Kazakh puncher as being one of the sports’ most entertaining fighters and also a dead-cert first ballot future Hall-of-Famer, despite him having made several dubious career decisions, coupled with his overly-obsessive blindly-loyal and annoying fanbase.

Gennadiy Golovkin turned 38 on Wednesday, and it’s looking like his next fight could be against Canelo Alvarez in a trilogy fight. Both guys were supposed to be taking interim matches before facing each other on September 12, but the pandemic will likely cause those fights to be canceled.

golovkin hasn't lost a fight yet, the closest he was to a REAL CONTROVERSIAL decision was against derev.
GGG definitely DID NOT DRAW & LOOSE THOSE FIGHTS VS. CANELO. HE WON BOTH. Canelo lost.
he's fighting the top of the crop in those last couple of years AND WON THEM ALL while nobody could even put him on his back foot for more than a couple of SECONDS, nobody yet seriously fazed or rattled him, surely not Canelo.
yet somehow as he now nears the biblical age of 38, where all strength & speed suddenly leaves the body ALSO his resiliance to punches & iron cast beard vanishes into thin air.
at once he's just an over the hill fragile has been on wobbly feet ready to be smashed & shattered by the devastating knockout power of those brutalizing hands of stone of the ALMIGHTY Canelo Alvarez.
canelo couldn't knock DOWN ggg if they fought every year until ggg is 50!
CANELO CAN NOT KNOCK OUT GOLOVKIN. PERIOD.
maybe with a special clause where nelo at 175 beefs up to in ring 190 pounds while gennady has to make 147 .
then maybe he could knock down ggg by , but still never ever will canelo be able to knock OUT GGG.

Alvarez on points again.
Whether he deserves it or not.
Though you'd think the respective career arcs would favour Alvarez even more in fight 3 than fight 2. I thought Golovkin looked vulnerable on a few occasions in his last fight though I still had him doing enough to win.
Can't see either of these guys stopping the other.

Of course it will have to be at 168lbs.
For a 5'9" beef lover like Canelo 12 stone is getting tougher to make nowadays.
Remember the days his fans used to worry that 160 was too big for him?
He certainly loves that specially lab prepared beef. Won't step into the ring without gorging himself on it for a month or two beforehand.
I think we know who is the last person to bring up the issue of performance enhancing drugs don't we Saul?
Happy Cinqo de Mayo sir, I hope you enjoy your meal. It's a chef speciality.
By the way, the judges send their regards.

Team GGG have been boasting has been boasting about Golovkin's ability to beat the very best at 168lbs since 2012 (or perhaps even earlier).
So why has he made no effort whatsoever to prove it? And what's so unreasonable about Canelo's request for the third bout to be fought at 168lbs?

chill out man.
he fought canelo instead and should be still unbeaten ( given fair judging) at middleweight beating the superstar twice, back to back just to get shat on as the champ by the judges.
nothing's unreasonable about canelo trying to beat ggg for real for once, next time at 168.
just found 'only fair' a bit cheeky coming from canelo.

Why even bother? GGG was robbed BOTH fights.... he won the second fight even MORE CLEARLY than the first.
Also for me Golovkin won both fight, btu the secondo was close, i had 7-5 GGG.

First fight was fair, I felt a draw was appropriate. Although it did seem if there was a winner it should have been GGG. The second fight I felt Canelo edged it, buy again thought it was a pretty even battle.
Either way I don't feel GGG got robbed by any stretch of the imagination. But I know how the word robbed gets thrown around these days.

Pointless fight. G is old but yeah the money are so sweet. I'd like to see Canelo fighting guys like Bivol, Benavidez or Charlo after/if he unifies the smw division. GGG would probably get T/KO'd by Canelo.

GGG has been a career middleweight. I think he was slipping just a little over the last three or four years, imo, from his very best and is now 39. I thought GGG beat Canelo in their first match, must look at the second again sometime.
I can't see him winning any decision vs Canelo if Canelo is still the A-side and doubt Golovkin knocks him out. Alvarez is strong, tough and is a well-rounded boxer these days.
We shall see how Canelo vs the Saunders style plays out overnight, but I doubt Golovkin at 168 in the future and pushing 40 could do much better than at 160 vs Alvarez.

Golovkin won the first quite clearly, I thought. The second one was close. I scored it to Golovkin, but I'll freely admit that I wanted Golovkin to win, so that would have played into my scoring. Could have gone either way, I guess.
A fight in the near future would be Canelo wide, and for me, only add to the injustice of Golovkin not getting the nod from the first fight.

Please no.
GGG has so many fork holes in him from people seeing if he is done or not (he is) that he no longer floats.

No need in this fight right now. Canelo gotta fight Plant and then Charlo.
