I don’t really know to be honest. I do think fans in general are quick to jump on the - he‘s on the slide - bandwagon. That doesn’t make them wrong, it just means I take it with a pinch of salt.

Carl Froch claims he would’ve beaten both Canelo and Golovkin.

“Too big, too strong,” said Froch on his Boxing Podcast about Saul Canelo Alvarez. “Jokes aside, when I watched Canelo fight Kovalev, I wasn’t impressed.

“I thought it was close, but I thought he [Canelo] was losing. At that weight [175], he’s slower. He reminded me of Arthur Abraham when I fought Abraham [in November 2011].

“I just kept him long with a jab, met him with combinations, and absolutely hammered him for 12 rounds. It was a flawless victory. I feel like I would have been able to do that to Canelo when he fought Canelo, that version of Canelo,” said Froch.

Froch went on to say that his jab alone would’ve beaten GGG.

“I’d have been too much for him,” said Froch about Gennadiy Golovkin. “I met him and he’s 5’9” or 5′ 10″. When I meet someone and shaking their hand, and looking in their eyes, I might be wrong, but me as a fighter and the warrior I was when I was fighting, I was shaping and sizing him up, thinking, ‘If I ever fight you, no problem, end of the jab, walk you into some shots, I’d be too much for you.’

“He [Golovkin] went 11 rounds with Martin Murray. At that sort of level, you’re not going to give me a problem,” said Froch.

I think he is. He's not prime, but he's a handful.

I have always favored Froch in this fight. I'm not sure about at 164 though, seems to be putting Froch at a pretty big disadvantage, especially at that stage of his career.

GGG said himself he could compete at (168) although never proving it. Here would be his chance.

It is my opinion Froch from 2014 was closer to Froch from 2011 than GGG from 2019 to GGG from 2017. But maybe im wrong. Im going in this by Froch anyway :)

And Mike Tyson is a great example of that, but Froch was already past-his-prime for the Groves rematch.

Froch first revealed he was thinking about quitting immediately after his rematch with Groves, but didn’t make it official until a prolonged period of inactivity, partially due to an elbow injury.

"I turned 38 last week. My joints and bones are aching. If the desire was there, I could fight again but there's nothing motivating me.

"I've got nothing left to prove and I'm bowing out at the top."

I feel that people believe GGG is further past-his-prime than Froch was in 2014, due to his recent struggles against Jacobs, Canelo and Derevyanchenko, but one could easily argue that these guys were by far the best opponents Gennadiy has ever faced, since the vast majority of his title defences were against opposition that weren’t top-ten world rated career-long middleweights.

I was very high on Golivkin at one point but really he feasted on below par opposition and when he stepped up he was found to be excellent but not great. I had him beating Canleo the first time but felt he was lucky vs Derv and Jacobs. I’d pick Froch to be too strong and tough for him.

Froch went out on a high and never really had a fight we’re he looked old. Gennday had a few off nights by the time mentioned.

I think Froch would back him up and after that Golovkin wouldn’t be nearly as effective, but it’s a war either way at any stage.
