Don't know though had a look at the Tyson fight and he looked quick there and was only 5 pounds lighter though. Sounds like they were giving us a lot of excuse saying he needs to be lighter, then fight like prime Tyson and then saying if he was lighter he'd be destroyed by Klitschko.

Maybe Mc Donnell isn't that good after all he was a Featherweight not a Heavyweight maybe an ex Heavyweight would be a good coach for Danny to tell him that weight was too much.

I have a love affair with my fridge yet im only between 203 and 207 pounds. :o
Williams looked quick against Tyson as Tyson had blown his load and was standing in front of him doing next to nothing - just as Williams was plodding in front of Klitschko doing nothing - he made Klitschko look pretty quick which he is certainly not.
If Mc Donell's supposed to be good why did he only rely on Vitali's stamina problem? Why did he think 270 was good for Danny to?

Strange that these fighters are told to go for his body first and they never do. See what happened when Lennox hit him to his sides and he couldn't take it.

I think that Williams has the natural resources to be a very good fighter, and I expected an upset when he fought Klitschko, partly because I dont think that Klitschko is that good but you have got to put him under pressure. I think that on his day Danny is as good as most of the mediocre 'world talent' out there. I also think that if he had tried to close the gap a little rather than just standing at the right range for K then he could have changed history. Do we know why he just stood there and took those shots? Crazy.

To be honest the only really good heavyweight (only barely) I can see keeps getting injured, I think Toney is fantastic.

Danny did close the gap quickly, at first. Watch the first 20 seconds of the fight, Danny comes roaring out of the block, and I think lands the first meaningful punches of the fight. He even backed Klitchsko up....

Then, Klitchsko got some distance and fired back, and the very first shots he landed stiffened Danny's legs and made him think, from then on, the only time Danny really closed the gap, was when there was a lull in Klitchsko's output, which wasn't that often.

On the rare occasions when Danny crowded Vitali he had some success, but he was also eating Left hooks and uppercuts at close range, he just seemed totally unable to move his head, dip at the waist or do anything except hope for an opening.

Funnily enough though, before the 3rd knockdown I actually had Danny ahead in that round, which was the 5th I think, Danny was pressing Vitali, and Vitali was looking tired, and Danny seemed to have recovered from the earlier knockdowns.

Had Danny been 20 lbs lighter, he might have had a chance of getting in and under Vitali, instead of standing rooted to the spot in front of him.

I don't think it would have made much difference in the end, I think Vitali is just the better man, and is mentally tougher and most importantly, smarter.

People keep saying how robotic and slow Klitchenko is but for me he is quite nimble in an awkward way... he uses his height well and has decent handspeed... also he has very good accuracy and picks his punches well... I've always thought that he was the superior fighter out of the two brothers.

There's something worth noticing about Vitali, watch where he carries his hands and his punching technique. He does something that Ali did, when he is punching, he only pulls his hands back a short distance after landing a shot, this means the individual shots aren't as hard, but that he's constantly landing leather. The shots are also not having to travel as far and so he catches people unawares.

This makes his punching technique look poor, and in truth he is really an arm puncher, but you don't need devastating KO one punch power to stop people, if a 250 lbs man is punching you twice a second it won't take long before you start feeling it.

Look how badly swollen Danny was, I've never seen him mark up like that in his career, but you could almost see his head getting bigger each time he was hit.

Vitali ain't pretty but he is effective.

Fact is guys Williams is nowhere near world class, talk of him being so is absolutely ridiculous. He was beaten by Julius Francis and Michael Sprott AND found wanting taking a one sided hammering for the EUROPEAN title. Sam's shortcomings at world level have since been exposed. He's a domestic fighter who got lucky against a shot to shit Tyson and should be nowhere near the world top 10.
