I had a demo of it from a PS1 magazine, it was only a 3 rounder but I played it non-stop for about 6 months until the actual game was released. So I was a pro before I even played it properly

To say boxing is as niche as Muay Thai is ridiculous. I know Liam Harrison, and he’ll do pt’s for a lot less than my journeyman friends fight for. He doesn’t get a lot more fighting.

Looking at the quality of the modelling, for what is meant to be a cut scene that's supposed to be better than the actual in game graphics, I predict it's going to be terrible.

What makes you say that?
My own personal experience. Very few young guys go to the boxing, it’s mostly MMA gyms now. I’d say where I live, the MMA gym is as busy as the four boxing gyms combined. TKD and Judo clubs just increase the numbers not going to boxing. Nobody knows any of the lighter weight fighters. Whereas everyone knows of Connor and Khabib etc.

Speaking from my own anecdotal experience, I’d agree. I know loads of people who go to MMA gyms, but hardly any who go to boxing gyms. MMA has the distinct advantage of letting people say they’ve been fighting, but without getting punched in the head on a regular basis,

I'd say there's at least something to that. they still get to wear their 'Full Contact Fighter' t shirts down the cafe and the pub anyway

Here, boxing is number one, followed by Thai. I don’t even know a good MMA coach or gym. Some good kick-boxers around.

Boxing gyms are typically falling down buildings, often without running water where there are often a lot of rough sorts and you do have to fight. First timers generally get a baptism!
It's not the sort of place a guy who wears a new 'I'm hard' tshirt goes too.
Lots of places which are there to make money, which have shiny floors, lots of mirrors and running water, sell these types of tshirts.
Their clients don't get punched in the face because they would never come back

There is no time or manpower to put up with time wasters.
You go there to fight, and getting punched in the head is obligatory.
No mucking about, usually the trainer has just finished work, he has 90 mins/ 2 hours to get you grafting and then everyone is off home, no time for posing, and there prob isn't even a shower there!

I’m going a bit Stuarty here, again, but it surprises me you don’t get any sex cases in them. All the sweat and leather hanging on chains and the punishment and shouting.
