clearly the island boys have genetics that make them naturally huge and if Tua was 250 when he was fit for 12 rounds you can imagine what would happen if he was sitting at home depressed!!!

I read recently he's down to 300lbs now. Still nowhere near fighting shape I wonder what weight he'll be end of march. High 200's no doubt.

Apparently it's their food as well, the taro root which is eaten by a lot of polynesians has a naturally occuring steroid in it.

I think Tua is finished to all intents and purposes. He was always going to be a fighter who was at his best when young with that build.

I think Tua wouldn't stand a chance against Vitali. He will have no problem keeping him at distance with the amount of shots he throws and I actually think he will stop him. If Lewis was a bit more aggresive then I think he would have stopped Tua, who went into his shell a bit after tasting Lewis' power. I think although Vitali doesn't hit as hard as Lewis, like James said, throws more shots and won't be able to miss him.

Ike is a bit different because I have no idea what he is going to be like when he comes back at middleweight. You can say Tua wouldn't beat Vitali before his 2 years out of the ring so no way after it

When you look at the stats, Vitali throws an incredible amount of shots for such a big guy, people go on about him being open mouthed, but most guys his size get fatigued. So long as a fighter knows how to pace himself, it's not a problem.

In order to beat Vitali, someone is going to have to be able to

a) jab him often enough to prevent Vitali throwing constant shots.
b) cover up or slip the shots when he is throwing.
c) put him on the back foot and unload enough shots to disorganise him
d) take a shot and punch back hard
e) keep Vitali moving and turning.

Tua can do a bit of B, some of C, all of D, and a bit of E, not sure he does much of A.

Tua used to slip shots a little early in his career but dont recall him doing that too much when weighing 250 or so.

Me neither, he's been far too stump like to be bending from the waist for a long time now. Even for the Lewis fight he was in fat shape.

Former World Boxing Association (WBA) Welterweight Champion Ike "Bazooka" Quartey made a great comeback in the early hours of Saturday after nearly four years lay-off, recording an eighth round knockout over American Clint Scott McNeil in their 10-round Middleweight fight at the Azumah Nelson Sports Complex. Quartey, who fought cautiously with intermittent explosive hooks and body shots, became the first boxer to knockout the stocky American. The victory updates Quartey's records to 35 fights of which he won 32, lost two and drew 1 (30KOs) against that of his opponent's 28-18-9-10 (9Kos).

Wonder if his comeback was filmed? It must have been surely...

It said in the report he boxed cagey throwing occasional combinations. That's when I think Quartey's at his best, would love to see it.
