I thought John o Donnell had won it more recently but just checked and it was some sort of commonwealth title instead

Good one. He beat funso banjo for the title so t he? I’m guessing without looking that he was originally from Nigeria.

Neville Meade, another heavy from the early 80's. Lost it in his first defence in a local Welsh derby with
David Pearce. How it went 9 i don't know, in what was the last British fight to be billed as a 15 rounder.
The late James Oyebola.
Roy Gumbs.....Kaylor officially 'arrived' with the televised starching of the decent Gumbs.
James Cook who ironically brought the curtain down on Kaylor's career.

Ian Napa....The diminutive stylist split opinion amongst fight fans but i enjoyed his work. Saw him win the British
at Wigan and he ended up with the Lonsdale outright i think.
Takaloo? Did this crowd pleaser win it? Complete opposite style of Napa, made him a telly favourite.

He was indeed. There was talk of Choi contesting the British title around that time. Shame it never happened but he fought several former and future British champs.

Saw Takaloo get starched by Alexander. Only went to the fight because of what i'd seen of him on the box.
A bigger version of Napa would've been something else. Still wouldn't have had any power, mind.
