I agree. He was better than Sanders, not as good as Ruddock. Ruddock was certainly flawed, and Morrison didn't suck. But of the three, Ruddock was the best, Morrison was second, and Sanders third. (I have nothing against any of the three, nor am I a fan of any of the three. )

But if we want to toss out losses because a guy was supposedly "partying too much" or a guy in his prime had suddenly "declined", and simply just go into elmerland and exaggerate one guy's wins and randomly toss out another guy's wins, then we can come up with anything.

There was neither exaggeration nor tossing out of anything. The guy was winning a certain type of fighters easily, then, after definite circumstances, he began having troubles with the same type of fighters. Once he was concentrated, fast and sharp, then he lost those features.

Dokes seemed to be in much better shape for Holyfield than for Ruddock. That might have affected his performance a bit.

Also, I think people may be reading too much into Ruddock's fights with Tyson. Using that same logic the many guys who did better vis a vis Lewis should be favored over Ruddock. Zelkjo Mavrovic put a much better fight vs Lewis than Ruddock did for instance.
