Gotta be rare for a guilty man to be set free after decades.
Right. Nothing to do with the song and movie. He was acquitted of the crime. I don't think that happens for guilty men.
Of course it can, and I mean aren't you the guy who sh!ts on the police and other authorities anyway? You just pick and choose when their words is the truth?

And he was let out not because he was found innocent, but over a prosecutorial technical issue....that's nothing remotely close to it being shown that he didnt do it

It's not just that particular crime issue anyway, a lot of other stuff in his life
Was he charged and imprisoned for this "Lot of other stuff"?

Was it murder? Because if not, I think it might be a little harsh to call the guy "Evil"

If a guy is acquitted in court. It means there wasn't enough evidence to convict him. The Law is supposed to prove beyond any reasonable doubt that you're guilty of something. If they can't do that, you're not.

I certainly am not naive enough to think Carter was a Saint. I just don't think he's Evil either.

He was let out over a technical issue, not because the evidence suggested he was innocent. He had already been convicted based on evidence twice, by seperate juries. He was never found not guilty and no judge for his cases, including the one that set him free, ever suggested that he didn't do it. I just don't think he's a particularly out of place pick for this dude, someone familiar with his case could pretty reasonably believe that he did it and that would make him fit the bill

Emile Griffith is off though, maybe I'll watch some highlights of him later while blasting the Dylan song, as a simultaneous tribute to Griff and Hurricane

By the way, isn't it f*cking crazy that Carter is one of the only 2 guys that ever stopped Griffith, and he stopped him by 1st round KO?

I don't think there's footage of that fight. Must've been a hell of a shot, and he had to have caught him cold because Griffith as we all know is tough as nails.

LaMotta would have to be up there. Maybe Liston. Monzon actually killed somebody, which is hard to beat.

Think he tortured animals or something like that, stuff like tieing their claws and taping their mouths, then putting attack dogs on them when they couldnt defend themselves. that is pretty sick and sadistic tbf

McClellan once bought a Black Lab, duct taped it's mouth shut and then timed his Pit Bull to see how fast he could kill the defenseless dog. Piece of crap got everything he deserved against Nigel Benn.

Sugar ray Robinson is up there for me because he's idolized by fans who rate him 1 and hate on modern fighters they don't like for far less. Leonard too.

I can't believe Schopenhauer was quoted on Boxrec, and it was someone other than me who did it.

This bizarre thread is bringing out some intersting posts.

It's a powerful sign of being a violent sociopath is what it is. Does the world need violent sociopaths? Is anybody better off because they exist? They are hopelessly broken and completely worthless to an evolved society.

there was a welterweight fighter/champion back in the 1950's who reportedly admitted
that he once was a professional assassin and once killed 30 people in a single month
(using a blow-gun and dart)
