He got KO'd twice by Wilder and beat everyone else he fought. What do you want from him?

Does this mean you're a big fan of Christopher Lovejoy's, assuming calibre isn't important to you?
Apart from Wilder, what's he done within the last five years to have earned your respect?

To fight and beat better opposition
LOL, ya , what else could anyone want from a dude whose lead up opposition to those fights was Raz Cojanu, Trav Kauffman, Daniel Martz, and Hammer

I'm not a fan of Ortiz and he didn't invent ducking good opponents.

No doubt, but lol your 'what more do you want from him' spiel is pretty silly. This is a dude who is still fighting the likes of Daniel Martz, Kauffman, Cojanu, etc.
So basically over the last several years, he either gets KO'd by Wilder or fights trash. That's not a 'what more do you want from him' type of guy

That would make an interesting thread, great records against terrible opposition. I just looked up Lovejoy and he may take the cake in this department. There was an Iranian HW who had a similar record. Also a midwestern American, named Steele?

It's kinda like Kell Brook---some fights vs top opponents but then pretty much everything without much value. Hardly any in between. Though Brook has actually fought 3 top opponents, not just 1, and he actually won 1 of those fights
If it's not Wilder, it's usually some total can. He burst onto the scene strong with a legit nice win but then fizzled out and just started crybabying it about promotoers, about being ducked, etc.
There's a lot more to want from him Tonster. Dudes in here praising his skills, and he is good, so how about dropping all the bum crushing.

Yeah. I'd take that one. Not sure what Ort has left after a long layoff at his advanced age.

Undefeated until Cedric Boswell. I was asked if I was a fan of Lovejoy? No. But I am a fan of Lamar Clark.

Seriously!?!
So Luis Ortiz is actually fighting a man that was recently defeated by one of the Cuban's previous opponents?
I really can’t take his career seriously.
It may sound needlessly facetious, but a small part of me hopes he loses this fight, because he deserves to have his so-called “fearsome” reputation stripped away from him.

I'll give you his team turning down AJ, but if I remember right he wanted the Wilder rematch instead, not wanting to lose that. As far as Whyte, that is a stretch, but ok. I do remember Whyte turning down Ortiz on more than one occasion as well.

Here's what I recall, which should be easy for you to verify...
On the 25th April 2018, the WBC officially ordered the final eliminator between
Luis Ortiz and Dillian Whyte.
The Cuban allegedly declined the opportunity to face Dillian Whyte on the 28th July 2018, which was accompanied with a two million dollar purse offer, because he claimed the scheduled fight-date was too soon for him. However, Ortiz actually ended up fighting on that date anyway, when he engaged in the preposterous Razvan Cojanu mismatch.
This assertion was communicated to the media by Eddie Hearn and Dillian Whyte. And I don’t believe this claim has been officially refuted by the Cuban’s team, but even if they had done so, Ortiz's handlers have a proven track record of lying about the financial offers they’ve received (i.e. as per Matchroom’s allegedly “lowball” and “BS” offer for the AJ fight).
That being said, there is a YouTube video of Team Ortiz only saying they didn't receive a contract for the fight, but they're only ever drawn up when the terms have been agreed. But regardless, Ortiz didn't want to compete on the 28th July anyway.
Meanwhile, Dillian Whyte had to find an alternative opponent for his 28th July bout, so he chose to face an even better fighter instead, Joseph Parker (as per ESPN's & The RING's ratings).
