Nowhere near, although he will have lost a lot to his wife and the winding down of whatever company it was of FW's he took to court (and won).
Well you say that, but Joe was a champ for 10 years and had way more fights than Carl.
I think if you take everything into account, he won less via purses and lost more via promoter and wife/divorce.
Still, I'd love to be in his financial position.
I think he got $10m for Jones which is obviously a lot of money but is by far and away his biggest earner. I can't imagine he got "that" much for Reid, Salem, Evans Ashira etc and a bunch of those other WBO defences.
He lost around $3m due to ticket sales and ppv buys being haf than expected. So the projections were not met, but he still made $10m which was a good amount.. he didn't have to pay any fees to any promoter as the bout was promoted by Calzaghe and RJJ themselves.
For his regular WBO title defences, he received around £250k-£400k guarantee..
Kinda like how Nelson used to received a guarantee £200k for his title defences. If you're gonna fight nobodies, don't expect a big payday.

Yeah, the two statements were seperate. He took FW to court over the Hopkins fight and won, he obviously made more money for the RJJ for a number of reasons, [lack of] promotional ties being a fairly big one.

Whenever I bought a Froch PPV fight, I don't know if I had read it, dreamt it or imagined it but I had it in my head that about a fiver of the PPV fee would be going to Froch, and that was fine in my book. I will always admire how he took on top opponent after top opponent, whether he won or lost, that is the thing I most remember about his career

Wasn’t that Haye’s schtick with SKY? He would get £5 from each PPV. Although he was setanta too.
Froch was all over the shop on just about every platform.

I think my recollection stems back to the Setanta PPV days, think Froch vs Kessler was on PPV for a tenner back then.

Can imagine him going round his student houses and making them sit in the living room which he collects rent and makes them watch the Groves KO. Over. And over. Again.

According to the media coverage of his court case with Fwank, Joe admitted in court, in cross-examination, that he had earned £16.5m with Fwank. I can't remember him ever being on UK PPV (could be wrong), so that is some serious wonga.

JC's wife was in two minds whether to get her chunk of change and walk away or to get a bit less and then have a chunk of future earnings.
Although JC was with her a good while and had kids, he had taken her on as a teenage single mum from the estate.
I think it was after the Thornberry fight, she felt that he was at the end of the road and cashed in. However the freedom gave him a new lease of life and he made the bulk of his money after that, money that she could touch, and apparently it was very satisfying for him.

Good for Joe. Money earned in such a hard and dangerous way shouldn't be carved up so easily. Brodie ended up penniless and I think his ex kept the house that was paid for by his purses.

Carl froch is a legend. Tough as nails, game as fukk, and one of the greatest trolls in internet history
