Re: Dave Allen Vs Christian Hammer

Dave allen is like the heavyweight version of paul smith.
Underserved opportunity after undeserved opportunity.
Underserved opportunity after undeserved opportunity.
Strange isn't it? Wonder if the likes of smigga were/are prepared to fight for well under the going rate. Paul was a very good fighter, better than he looked but I agree that he got more chances that were warranted based on ability and marketability. There must be a reason and money is my best guess.
That's money for jam, that is.
If the ghost of Pricey can beat Allen with ease then Hammer has a very good shot. I was surprised how easily he folded vs Fury (though I backed Fury to stop him that night.)
We know now with the Wilder performances just how good Fury is and was. Making a seeming immovable object like Christian Hammer wilt is an under rated win on the resume.ShadrachSimmo wrote: ↑10 Oct 2020, 15:57If the ghost of Pricey can beat Allen with ease then Hammer has a very good shot. Could be an interesting fight though.
He was expected to lose, it was more a case of how easily he folded without really being hurt that kinda surprised me.jameswilson wrote: ↑10 Oct 2020, 16:24We know now with the Wilder performances just how good Fury is and was. Think allens changed plan to tune up end of year, then wardly for brittish title early next year. Thats what he said on instagram.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑04 Nov 2020, 15:40 Hammer is now fighting Yoka on Nov 26..
I though this would have been rescheduled.
That's a good fight. Really did not rate Yoka as an amateur - just thought he was incredibly luckyRuthless-RKO wrote: ↑04 Nov 2020, 15:40 Hammer is now fighting Yoka on Nov 26..

Yoka has looked decent as a pro to be fair. My own gut instinct is that he might be an on top guy and I’m convinced that he will react well when he’s pushed a bit. Hammer is a good fight for himstujones wrote: ↑05 Nov 2020, 16:10That's a good fight. If this is the kid I’m thinking if he’s been beaten by Tom Schwartz twice.gregregegg wrote: ↑06 Nov 2020, 18:09 looks like Allen vs Ilja Mezencev on the conner benn (old whyte povetkin) card. Long cry from Hammer, never heard of the guy, but at least he is 25, and active...
(according to allens instagram, slightly cryptically..)
Yea thats the one. 22-2, 25 years old, only beaten by someone whos only defeat is fury... It can work on paper.. This is not a PPV anymore at least, hence they can get away with this.fizzjambo wrote: ↑06 Nov 2020, 19:15If this is the kid I’m thinking if he’s been beaten by Tom Schwartz twice.gregregegg wrote: ↑06 Nov 2020, 18:09 looks like Allen vs Ilja Mezencev on the conner benn (old whyte povetkin) card. Not in itself a terrible fight (although a pretty poor one) but it would be a steaming, fetid dug poop of a PPV fight undercard.
Allen’s transformation into an undercard PPV must have is one the more bizarre UK boxing developments of this decade
Aye it’s no worse than DD’s last opponent, although I suppose that was at very short notice.gregregegg wrote: ↑06 Nov 2020, 19:51Yea thats the one. 22-2, 25 years old, only beaten by someone whos only defeat is fury... As does Allen. Maybe not as much, but not far off
