In terms of renown I think it has to be. I also thought of Lyle, and staying with the heavies, Tua against Ibeabuchi. Eubank's first Thompson fight usually comes up, and I've a soft spot for Mason against Lewis, despite how that went down. Maybe Francis-Ajisafe?

Was sure someone would have already mentioned this, but Castillo against Corrales.

McAuley vs Bassa was my first thought.

This obviously can't count as one of the best, but McCall in the Lewis rematch is one of the most memorable for me. It's certainly one of the most impressive displays of a chin I've ever seen, if you get where I'm coming from.

Been watching a lot of Wayne McCullough lately and TBF he was always second best at the top level, great world title win in Japan against Yakushiji but that was at Bantamweight, all his other world title fights came at Super Bantam and Feather and in TBF apart from the first Larios Fight he was well beaten but the heart he showed, fitness and granite chin, he got schooled by Zaragoza but gave a good account of himself against Hamed and Morales, took a beating from Harrison but somehow went the distance, Larios was the first guy to stop him in the rematch, McCullough just faded but in the 4th he threw 170 punches in a round, compubox record, 180 seconds in a round

Triggered a great memory for me, which was Troy Dorsey's incredible effort against Kevin Kelley! Nearly 2,200 punches thrown in one hell of a fight, which apparently is a world record to this day:

Dorsey was robbed, great Tuesday night fight.

Morales against Maidana is up there for me. Turning back the years and almost pulling it off.

Aye, Wayne was good enough to win another title but not against the likes of Morales or Hamed.

I’d actually add Lomo vs Salido - easy to forget that in just his second pro fight Loma faced a world champ with more than 50 pro fights and lost a controversial split decision... and was coming on strong at the end.
