If they had it on standard subscription BT Sport (or even a double PPV at £9.95) along with Dubois Joyce then they may have got a few more subs for the month or PPV buys.

Heavyweight boxing legends Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr. will not be fighting for any special WBC title when the pair collide on November 28.

Despite previous reports to the contrary, and Jones then admitting he was more motivated if there was a WBC belt on the line, the situation has been cleared up.

The World Boxing Council will pay tribute to the superstar champions and give each competitor a strap for their efforts.

No matter who wins, the pair will walk away with a ‘Front Line Battle – Black Lives Matter’ strap

Outlining their thoughts on giving Tyson and Jones the awards, the WBC said the following: “Through their wondrous careers, Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr. have written with golden letters several chapters in the history books of the WBC and boxing in general.

Tyson-Jones PPV To Double As Concert; Lil Wayne, French Montana, Wiz Khalifa, YG, DaBaby All Set

Boxers have asked hip-hop artists to chaperone them to the ring with a song and dance for decades on end, but it will reach another level during the Mike Tyson versus Roy Jones Jr. pay-per-view event Nov. 28 when the exhibition match between two all-time greats will double as a quasi-concert.

A star-studded lineup featuring DaBaby, Lil Wayne, French Montana, Wiz Khalifa and YG will each have multi-song performances during the event, entertainment platform and event host Triller announced.

Triller is backed by a long list of entertainers including Snoop Dogg, Future, The Weeknd and Pitbull, and the social app is tapping into their brand identity by bringing the musical acts to Los Angeles’ Staples Center, a longtime host of many big-time boxing matches, concerts as well as the Grammy Awards.

“The connection between boxing and music is undeniable,” said Bobby Sarnevesht, executive chairman of Triller. “As a global language, music unites cultures, and we knew this historical moment needed to include some of the biggest names in the industry. Unparalleled to any other entertainment platform in the space, Triller is determined to give fans a night they will never forget.”

"This event is going to go down in history, no doubt! I'm grateful to be a part of it and share the arena with two living legends. I'm stoked to perform and give the fans something they can rock to,” said Lil Wayne.

“It’s truly a moment,” added French Montana. “I’m honored and can’t wait to see Tyson and Jones fight.”

Lil’ Wayne has previously walked Floyd Mayweather Jr. to the ring multiple times by way of his live musical acts, and it remains to be seen if he will make it to the stadium next week or keep a low profile after it was revealed Tuesday that the artist has been charged with one count of possession of a firearm and ammunition by a convicted felon. If convicted, the entertainer faces up to 10 years in prison.

Whether it’s Jones Jr. making rap anthems, or Tyson upping his mystique to walking into the ring to Public Enemy's “Welcome to the Terrordome” — and later being name-dropped in a ream of rhymes — the connection between hip hop and boxing has been profound since the 1980s.

Author Todd D. Snyder of Hamilcar Publications will be releasing the book “Beatboxing: How Hip Hop Changed The Fight Game” chronicling the marriage between both in the fall of 2021.

The Tyson vs Jones PPV can be purchased digitally in the United States for $49.99 via TysonOnTriller.com, FITE.TV or any of the FITE’s OTT platforms on mobile devices and smart TVs.

The event will also be available in the UK via BT Sport, and will feature fights between Jake Paul vs. Nate Robinson, Badou Jack vs. Blake McKernan and Viddal Riley vs. Rashad Coulter.

I am backing Tyson will be gassed after 30 seconds. 15 years since McBride and has been abusing his body the majority of the time. Roy is shot to shite but should be able to stumble around the ring and potshot his way to victory if he can survive that initial 30 second burst from Mike.

The fight will be choreographed to eff. Be like the fight in Rocky 2. Ppv punters will get their money's worth. I'm still interested though just to see Tyson and how he has aged. Don't give a shite about RJJ though wasn't ever a fan.

Don't get the appeal of this at all. Anybody who gets drawn in to buy the PPV and stays up to watch is a complete fool. If Mike and Roy are both so skint that they need to go through with this, I'd rather give them the cash directly and not make them parade out like a pair of performing seals at a waterpark. It's tragic.

Leonard, Adesanya, Bernstein To Do Commentary; Buffer on Board

Triller and Mike Tyson's Legends Only League are trying to make its maiden voyage into producing a boxing pay-per-view as big as possible by reaching into a deep well of mainstays in the sport.

The entertainment platform announced the principals who’ll be tasked with producing a palatable product on the screen for the exhibition showdown between Tyson and Roy Jones Jr. at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Nov. 28.

Hall of Fame broadcaster Al Bernstein will provide play-by-play coverage, and Sugar Ray Leonard and UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya will serve as analysts.

“It’s surreal that I’m actually given the opportunity to witness these two living legends compete ringside,” said Adesanya. “I grew up watching these two boxing icons in the ring and am honored to be on the sidelines commenting on one of the greatest comeback fights of all time.”

“I’ve never seen a night with so many iconic names on the program. This matchup is something I thought I’d only see in my dreams, but here we are,” said Leonard.

Hall of Fame broadcaster and author of the new book “Talking to GOATs” Jim Gray will provide pre-and-post fight interviews, while boxing aficionado and co-voice of “The 3 Knockdown Rule” podcast Mario Lopez will move the program along as the event’s host, much like he does for NBC’s “Access Hollywood.”

Michael Buffer will serenade the screens with his iconic line of “Let’s Get Ready To Rumble” for the main event, while ring announcer Barrie Egget will introduce the fighters in action for the undercard. Ernesto Amador will provide the primary Spanish commentary.

Grammy Award-winning artist Ne-Yo will perform the National Anthem.

“Opening for a fight of this magnitude is an honor and I can’t wait to witness one of the most noteworthy nights of the decade. I may be performing, but I am a fan at the end of the day and I look forward to witnessing this once in a lifetime lineup,” says Ne-Yo.

Earlier this week it was announced that Da Baby, Lil Wayne, French Montana, Wiz Khalifa and YG will each have multi-song performances.

The eight-round exhibition between Tyson and Jones Jr. will be fought in two-minute rounds and be scored remotely by the WBC. The California State Athletic Commission has sanctioned the fight. The undercard will feature fights between Jake Paul vs. Nate Robinson, Badou Jack vs. Blake McKernan and Viddal Riley vs. Rashad Coulter.

There is zero reason to purchase it.

If it's a work I imagine it will end in a draw. If either man goes for the knockout I see Tyson missing, gassing and dropping.

I think this a more interesting fight than Joshua/Pulev.

The key factor for me here is Jones retired something like 10 years after Tyson did. Tyson will be breathing out his backside after 3 rounds, Jones will win any round that he doesn’t get stunned or knocked down. Unless Tyson irons him out early I can’t see any other result.

Maybe I'm wrong (I'll be the first to admit that I don't have my finger on the current zeitgeist) but I can't see many people dropping £20 to watch Roy Jones fight Mike Tyson in 2020.

Hope it's a tear up and not a sparring contest, Jones is fresher but he hasn't been able to hold a shot since Tarver iced him and he's probably equally as shot as Tyson, I reckon Tyson can genuinely KO him in a round

I have read that people use the Corrie Sanders exhibition as an example that no Tyson spars are exhibition - Sure Tyson floored him, apologised and subsequently carried Sanders the remaining rounds.

I can. Tyson is an icon.

I think that the vast majority of those who regard Tyson as an icon will see this for the distasteful circus act that it is and not want to buy it for fear of encouraging a whole series of bouts involving old fighters. I reckon more of the PPV buys will be from fans of jake paul rather than the two legends
