He’s claiming we should respect those fighters that are willing to make concessions in order to compete, but then he also claimed that Canelo should be disrespected, because he apparently places money above everything else.

However, there are legal documents proving his willingness to take a pay cut in order to compete.

And apparently it’s pathetic of me to point that out.

I think its pretty selfish and naive to think fighters wouldnt maximize earnings and want a contract upheld.

other fighters have been willing to make big concessions to keep the momentum going and provide something for the fans .

and they deserve the respect for that , but the likes of canelo clearly put money above absolutely everything else ..

Yes that's exactly what's wrong.

Of course boxers need to consider the financial elements involved in this dangerous sport, BUT not to the point that it's merely a well oiled business transaction with everyone counting numbers and simply doing the math.

If you go down the Canelo route boxers will be spending more time in litigation than in the gym. Who wants that? Apart from the circling vultures in the legal profession of course.

There has always been a sporting side to boxing as well as an entertainment one. If the likes of Canelo disregard that then they are little more than parasites either.

Despite all of their empty vomit inducing platitudes about doing it for the fans etc etc.

In fact Canelo has been milking the Mexican fans for years and years. Just like Mayweather before him he was well aware of the financial importance of both Mexican Independence Day and the Cinco de Mayo.

Nowadays it seems he can't even be bothered to do that!

The face of boxing? Is that some kind of a joke? More like the face of boxing business.

Anthony Joshua, Manny Pacquiao and GGG are genuine fan favourites prepared to both give and take from boxing, but they won't be around forever.

That’s not the point I’m trying to make... and you already know that.

You’ve formulated a derogatory accusation based on nothing more than your personal dislike of the individual.

But yet you feel it’s pathetic of me to cite proof that contradicts those false beliefs you hold.

Like or dislike whoever you want, but don't blatantly lie without expecting to be challenged.

Yeah. Anytime you have to create a new division, and reduce your title fight rounds, something wrong.
