If he had a broken/fractured bone he musnt be getting the hard spars, wouldnt he be used to getting smacked about if he had decent sparring partners? I cant remember one right hand landing on DDD it was all jabs. Anyone remember bruno's eye against lennox lewis? Now that was from rights hands jabs lefts and right hands, remember tysons eye against buster douglas? Now lets get this straight i dont want anyone to die in the ring or get seriously injured but if you give it out for 15 fights then you gotta be able to take it in 1 fight,it cant all be one way traffic,if it was that easy we would all be doing it. DDD quit,he was smacking Joyce around in the early rounds and Joyce took it with no sign of quit.
Do you think if he was getting hit regularly with big gloves and a head guard on in the gym, his orbital bones would become stronger and less likely to break when hit with little gloves and no head guard in a fight?
His face would used to getting hit is my point,he doesnt even look like he has ever been hit clean till Saturday. Sparring gets the nerves in your face used to getting hit.
Deadens the nerves in fact.
Thomas hearns had several nerves in his face die, which is why he couldnt speak properly, hed lost motor neurons in his face. Terrible sport really.

. However Hearn has alluded to the fact that no proof of this injury has been shown.
so DDD hasn't sent evidence of his medical status to
a man who isn't his promoter
well if that doesn't smack of him faking it, I don't know what does
Yeah of course he doesn't need to send him anything but I guess lots of rumours and comments doing the rounds that he was fine enough to do the after fight interview etc.. so of course that gets people thinking maybe that was just an excuse to justify DDD taking a knee. The first reports in the press quite soon after the fight said he went to hospital because of a 'suspected fracture and nerve damage' so at that point nothing had been confirmed. I assume that's what Hearn was referring to.

what Camp Eddie was referring to is a red herring as even insofar as evidence for the injury might be extant, there can be no assumption that Camp Eddie would be made privy to it as a matter of course. He knows this, but nonetheless wants to insinuate that the lack of evidence equates to a lack of an injury, because that's what he and Fwank do, they make little snidey insinuations about each other's fighters.
cos they are snidey KUnts

I said in the round by round that I thought the last jab landed had cracked something.

Maybe you should give his team a quick email, suggest they try a few rounds sparring in preparation for their next fight?
As radical an idea as it is, though, don't think you can guarantee a grateful audience, prophets and innovators are seldom recognised or appreciated in their own time, and I imagine the current training team would be a little red-faced, that they didn't think of the sparring idea themselves.
Hahahahahaha should of asked you cause the most knowledgeable on here arnt ya CP? I was making the pount of it didnt look like he has had hard sparring hence why he couldnt take JJ jabs.
Anyone wanna know absolutely anything about boxing see counter punch,he is the guy who knows all, guess you could say he is the GOD of boxing knowledge. Dont try to give opinions or reasons because he will slay you down with his "facts".

Definitely a case of too many quick wins and not enough experience for Dubois. Thats often the trouble these days, they are so keen to keep fighters unbeaten they feed them a line of easy knock-overs, looks good on paper and highlight reel but not teaching the fighter anything. When JJ didn't fall over I think Dubois was clueless and lost his confidence.

no I wouldnt .
DD had the right to do what he needed to do in order save his sight and future career , his corner need to to take a look at their performance as they could have protected him better .
Sadly forums have some total wank faced trolls who just get off on bitchin about something from the protected anonymous world they inhabit .
I can guarantee that if Dubois had stopped Joyce then they would all have piled in saying Joe was washed up and no good !
In time we will see DD back and good luck to him when he does .

They really are. I would find both a lot likeable if they they just spoke about their own fighters, but I guess that will never happen.
