Re: Round-by-Round: MTK: The Golden Contract | Featherweight & Light-Heavyweight Finals - 2 December 2020
Fvcking ref did he really need to see a towel there to end it, Michel was completely spent, dominant win for Bolotniks, he took a couple rounds to get going, Michel started off well, landed some nice shots, kept ot simple but by thr 3rd Bolotniks was coming on strong, Michel looked ready to go in the 4th, giving a count in the 5th when a big right had him falling into the ropes, he took some big shots, winded several times, kept seeing him take massive deep breaths, shipped some clean shots upstairs as well but he kept plugging away trying to fight it out, by the 9th he was in survival mode though
Bolotniks is a bit of a beast, looked measured tonight as well, strong aggressive mostly and puts his shots together well and has quick hands, his body punching was what won him the fight, broke Michel down and overwhelmed him in the end, look forward to see what they do with Bolotniks next

I think he wanted Michel to last the 10. He probably coulda have, but good call from the corner.

This fight definitely needs a buzzing crowd to get it moving, hope it picks up
poor idea for the main event to be on at 11pm on a wednesday night

This is an anti climax after that last fight. Bolotniks my new favourite fighter.
Ryan Walsh has always fucked me off since he let that fight against Ceylan drift away from him when it was there to be won. Been gifted too many victories since then.

Gave Walsh r4 and everything else to Dickens.

Walsh waits until round 10 to have a go

Not sure where anyone finds 3 or more rounds for Ryan there.

Competitive rounds but a clear win for Dickens, Walsh started off well, was whipping in some nice shots to the body but Dickens found his groove in the 3rd and pulled away, his workrate a lot higher than Walsh's, im not really sure about Walsh's tactics, looked like he was playing counter puncher but never countered, when he did throw hands it was him getting countered ,Dickens just did everything better, the jab, the left hand, done the basics very well, he looked sharp, he's looked good up at Featherweight, Walsh showed some urgency in the last round but too little too late,, dont think he left it all in the ring tonight, not sure how much he wants it these days

It looked like Walsh wanted to counter but was too slow and static for Dickens.handsofstone wrote: ↑02 Dec 2020, 19:56 Competitive rounds but a clear win for Dickens, Walsh started off well, was whipping in some nice shots to the body but Dickens found his groove in the 3rd and pulled away, his workrate a lot higher than Walsh's, im not really sure about Walsh's tactics, looked like he was playing counter puncher but never countered, when he did throw hands it was him getting countered ,Dickens just did everything better, the jab, the left hand, done the basics very well, he looked sharp, he's looked good up at Featherweight, Walsh showed some urgency in the last round but too little too late,, dont think he left it all in the ring tonight, not sure how much he wants it these days
I gave Walsh r4 for edging the nicer shots in that round. Outwith that, i gave him the 10th for throwing caution to the wind, but not sure why he waited until the last round to have a go... infuriating.

Surprised he never tried switching orthodox either, he's an intelligent boxer he mustve known the fight was slipping awayRicky wrote: ↑02 Dec 2020, 20:01It looked like Walsh wanted to counter but was too slow and static for Dickens.handsofstone wrote: ↑02 Dec 2020, 19:56 Competitive rounds but a clear win for Dickens, Walsh started off well, was whipping in some nice shots to the body but Dickens found his groove in the 3rd and pulled away, his workrate a lot higher than Walsh's, im not really sure about Walsh's tactics, looked like he was playing counter puncher but never countered, when he did throw hands it was him getting countered ,Dickens just did everything better, the jab, the left hand, done the basics very well, he looked sharp, he's looked good up at Featherweight, Walsh showed some urgency in the last round but too little too late,, dont think he left it all in the ring tonight, not sure how much he wants it these days

Walsh is very stiff in his movement.

Not a bad fight at all, fellas!
Had it 97-94 for Dickens. Incredible footwork that created angles, especially for the jab. Towards the end he was landing solid combinations. Good defense throughout.

Bolotniks looked good. Him against Buatsi, Yarde or Callum Johnson would be good fights.
The Golden Contract must have loads of caveats. A 2 year, 5 fight deal where they get at least £100k per fight. What happens if they get stopped in their first fight? Or the fighters don’t want to take some difficult fights?

Re: Round-by-Round: MTK: The Golden Contract | Featherweight & Light-Heavyweight Finals - 2 December 2020
The Dickens fight went quite similarly to what I expected, a bit too sharp and elusive for Walsh. Well impressed with Bolotniks, some fantastic body work and tidy combinations alongside cutting the ring off quite nicely. Think the first clean left hook to the body Bolotniks landed caused a problem for Michel, may have been 2nd or early in 3rd round but I remember thinking that's a great shot and Michel seemed to back up almost immediately. Very funny interview from Bolotniks after the fight too, hopefully he gets some good opportunities in 2021.
