That's history and the record books say otherwise. GGG is now too small and too old to be a good choice of opponent for Alvarez. The focus for the Mexican should be one more fight at SMW then move up to LHW.

Re: Ok I'm now officially converted
officially ggg beat him 0 times
i thoght geej edged the first fight but clearly lost the second
i'd say it does reflect well on ggg though since canelo has been fighting good opponents since and ggg has done better than all of them did vs canelo. like, i know styles and all that, but you'd watch that and think that ggg could beat callum smith

Re: Ok I'm now officially converted
except for the payday why would ggg want to fight nelo once again given HE BEAT HIM TWICE. BACK TO BACK.
still it's a good enough reason but again zero chance of getting fair judging.
golovkin has nothing left to proof.
he's closing in on 40 and beat everyone that was put in front of him decisively, fair & square without once getting a gift or even getting away with a somewhat controversial W.
who else can say that about his career?
mayweather? ward?... i'm joking.

canelo at 5'9'' is wwe level exaggerated. he's really 5'7 and a smudge. now that his noggin miraculously 'grew' i'd give him 5'8'' fresh out of bed... but was there ever a shorter Lightheavyweight champion?
quawi was 5'6'' i guess.. defo the shortest light heavy/cruiserweight champion ever.

That is a fact no matter how much you don't like it.
Period.
You clearly are incapable of objectively scoring a fight.
No objective observer would have a problem with the decision in the second fight.
Both the Jacobs and Dereyvechenko decisions could reasonably have gone the other way as well.......but they didn't.

Re: Ok I'm now officially converted
if you think golovkin's performances as defending champion in canelo 2 & jacobs fights (not once being rattled or hurt) should've resulted in loosing his belts... then that's just your opinion, man!
derev did extraordinarily well in what was arguably the closest bout of ggg's career, again...
by the way.
my scoring of fights is indeed subjectively naturally.
decisions by 3 subjectively judging officials should result in an at best objective decision...
if that makes sense, could somebody please formulate this subject objectively more accurate, please.
if ya know what i mean...
i'm done for today.
buenas noches muchachos!

Re: Ok I'm now officially converted
!!!!!yes!!!!!!
But I’m also converted. Canelo is one bad mofo. That performance this weekend spells trouble for anyone else that we thought could beat Canelo from here on out. His chin is ridiculous and his new style of pushing the action like a true Mexican means a full plate for anyone of those names we’ve been claiming as foes at 160-175. Canelo is now punishing people for even trying.
Re: Ok I'm now officially converted
I agree that his listed height must have been taken when he was sat on his trainer's shoulders. He is, like you say 5'7" or so. Makes what he does even more impressive.adislav123 wrote: ↑21 Dec 2020, 21:01 canelo at 5'9'' is wwe level exaggerated. he's really 5'7 and a smudge. now that his noggin miraculously 'grew' i'd give him 5'8'' fresh out of bed... but was there ever a shorter Lightheavyweight champion?

GGG beat prime Canelo once, arguably twice.
Mayweather beat a rookie Canelo.
Canelo I would argue, hasn't convincingly beaten anyone of note yet. Nor is he ever likely to. A compliant Kovalev didn't count.
In one area though, Saul does really excel.
At least for those with eyes to see.
Is there any more an obvious PED user in boxing today than Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez?
Doesn't look like it. I can't think of a more unhealthy looking boxer than many people's current p4p No1.
Compared to the fighter who entered the ring against Mayweather he now looks absolutely 'roided' to his gills.
Definitely boxing's no 1.

Re: Ok I'm now officially converted
bull.
ggg threw/landed more over the course of a close fight. he was still the aggressor though canelo decided to stand his ground more often.
GOLOVKIN WAS THE DEFENDING CHAMPION IN THIS FIGHT. CANELO WAS THE CONTENDER!!
IF ONE FAIRLY & COMPETENTLY JUDGES THIS CONTEST THERE'S NO WAY CANELO COMES OUT ON TOP.
a draw (114/114) is possible if u give canelo all the debatable rounds plus another one.
no way canelo won round 12.
gifted or bought/corruption or incompetence doesn't matter. officially canelo was declared the winner, officially a ton of bullshit happens in boxing, doesn't make it right!
WRONG DECISION is the matter of fact!
golovkin was defending champion ffs and DID NOT LOOSE THIS BOUT!
ggg beat canelo a second time, back to back and got fucked over once again and robbed of his world championship.
this are the facts if one likes them or not/no 2 ways about it.

At some point you have to recognize that nobody cares what you think. Ggg won the first fight, the second was close but canelo edged it. Calling that a robbery is a bigger joke than you.adislav123 wrote: ↑23 Dec 2020, 22:58 bull.

I'm afraid this is the boxing business now.
Us fans have to resort to online fantasy matchups because the sport is unwilling to deliver them.
Right now the 33 year old Terence Crawford is the leading face of this side of the boxing business.
He's practically managed to avoid anyone of consequence for years and years. The thinnest resume for an often cited p4p no 1.
It's not even that he was unlucky (lucky?) enough to be active in a weak era.
The opponents were there but he showed no interest. Still doesn't.
GGG, until after Canelo 2 seemed willing to fight anyone anywhere. Can't think of many fighters who took more risks in climbing the slippery slope. There's many reason we don't see more outsiders like Golovkin. It's just so crazy difficult to do it that way.
For sure things changed after that fight. He lost all interest in unifying and now quite rightly is also chasing the biggest buck for the smallest bang.
At 39, what else should be doing?
Anthony Joshua remains my favourite real champion. Willing to fight anyone and still defend his mandatories.
If he's not a true champion, then who is?
Re: Ok I'm now officially converted
Anthony Joshua remains my favourite real champion. REALLY why . he hasnt fought wilder or fury , i mean his last win was over a fighter who is in the age brackett for the next corona vaccine and his last lost was to an out of shape little brawler , fury or kid cinnamon are true champions, fury went to germany to fight klitschko and america twice to face wilderThomastearns wrote: ↑24 Dec 2020, 10:03brilo33 wrote: ↑23 Dec 2020, 18:02i will give you the first fight but second fight saul changed it up and went after triple g which at a like has never been seen before and thats why i gave him the win , though very close , yea Kovalev was finshed , but who has g beat an ageing macklin, murray brookThomastearns wrote: ↑23 Dec 2020, 17:28 GGG beat prime Canelo once, arguably twice.

Re: Ok I'm now officially converted
Eddie Hearn on behalf of Matchroom and/or DAZN made very lucrative offers to both Wilder and Fury but they instead decided to fight each other for less money. This has been admitted by Wilder and is no longer a secret.
They are on record as attempting to freeze out Anthony Joshua but fools still blame Joshua. Apart from Miller, Joshua has fought all the top contenders that have been willing to face him.
How TF can you complain that he hasn't fought Fury or Wilder when they have both strategically avoided him?
For the record I don't believe Fury was intending never to fight AJ, but he wanted to ensure he would be facing him as an equal and not as a regular challenger.
