I saw that interview from Eddie more as a threat to the BBBoC to make u turn in February. He even said "me going abroad is bad news for the BBBoC"
I took it that way too but it wouldn’t surprise me if they plan all of the fights somewhere else - particularly if they get a license from somewhere. I think you’re still allowed to travel if it’s for work which I’m sure this would be classified as.
I go back to my previous point - it does seem strange to me that seemingly every sport, bar boxing, is continuing at a pro level. Even horse racing is continuing.

This call for no cards in Jan has been made by the BBBC and not the government.
I guess 2 x Ambulances on these shows could be better used elsewhere in this current climate.
Eddie needs to get Dubai booked up for some February and march boxing......its one of the few places left open.

I really cannot see any country hosting boxing event involving boxers from the UK - many countries are shutting down the borders for UK travellers.
Yes I think Ambulances x 2 are better used elsewhere and why the heck aren't Rugby doing the same. The amount of injuries in professional rugby is crazy and with hospitals already cancelling cancer operations in certain health boards - they really don't need the added pressure.

Hearn is going to come up trumps again and have a fight island type in UAE. Very similar to fight camp which was brilliant in fairness to him.

Im sure he is scheming it, but will They allow it now that UK has a particularly shit strand of Covid.. I can see them allowing it for a mega fight like Fury AJ, but i cant see them doing it for the likes of Josh kelly ect.

January sucks overall, not only in Britain. What we have there? Kovalev fights a more or less interesting matchup against a prospect. Nothing else really.

The BBBC have announced that boxing can resume from mid February.

We did get this surprise treat from South Korea over the past weekend

How much clout does Eddie Hearn have with the BBBoC. Sports are now starting to postpone, then boxing announces it is going to comeback. Was this due to Eddie's threat to put on shows elsewhere.
If cases and deaths and critically Hospilations dont go down then I hope the BBBoC does the right thing and review this decision...it is now on all fronts worse than in March

Danny Flexen did a piece on YouTube essentially saying that in his opinion the BBBofC’s decision to come back mid-February is down to Hearn.
Robert Smith was, in my opinion, quite rightly pissed off about this and had an interview the next day explaining the rationale behind the decision. He said the decision was based on the board’s medical panel indicating that in their opinions the strain on the NHS will be heavily reduced come the middle of February.
Time will tell I guess but I really hope that’s correct.

I don’t disagree with what you’re saying but when, rightly or wrongly, every other sport is still going promoters will be getting pressure from broadcasters and more importantly the fighters. Unlike other sports they’ll only be paid if they’re active so I can fully understand why Eddie would look to move the shows elsewhere to get them active.

I dont disagree Maverick, the timing though of the decision seemed odd when this week has seen the postponement (with no clear start date) of women's rugby and Scotttish football (outside of the top two tiers).
Sad to say, boxing needs to be the first sport to close and the last sport to reopen and for me the BbboC would have been better in terms of pr to "review" the closure at the end of Jan and not give a start date when, as Danny mentioned, hospital admissions are still rising
