Really like Ortiz he looks thr real deal and potential p4p material, he's knocking out some durable guys already, Vargas, Herrera, Orozco and Soloman
Hooker done well to win a world title and make a few defences, he looked great against Flanagan winning it and the Saucedo win was solid at the time especially going into his backyard, Saucedo was an accident waiting to happen but at the time he was unbeaten and well hyped, Ramirez put a beating on Hooker though , Hooker laid on the ropes too much and didnt use the ring and his size advantages, if he does this against Ortiz then he'll be dealt swifter, tbh i think however he chooses to fight, he's tailor made for Ortiz and he gets stopped before around halfway

“I think he’s going to learn from the Jose Ramirez fight,” said Vergil Ortiz Jr to the Pug and Copp Boxing Show. “Everyone has asked me, ‘Have you watched the Jose Ramirez fight, and are you basing your strategy off of that fight.’
“He’s someone that will learn from his mistakes,” Ortiz said about Hooker. “I’m bigger than Jose, I’m stronger than Jose.
“There’s no reason for Hooker to stay inside with me the way he did with Jose. He’s going to want to keep me out and use his reach.
“I know his trainer is going to help him do that. He’s trained with Terence Crawford. I’m sure he’s a boxing style coach.
“That’s what he needs to work on if he wants to come out with a win. We’re going to do what we do best and that’s to improvise and adjust.
“One thing isn’t going to work with every fighter, and that one thing, they can adjust to that as well. So we work on a lot of different things.
“We work on fighting inside, we work on fighting outside. We got to work on a lot of different things to make sure whatever he throws at us, we’re not surprised and we’re ready,” Ortiz Jr said.
You’re coming off a long layoff due to the pandemic. Have you been training regularly through 2020 or did you use it as a year to rest?
“I’ve been training all the time in the year 2020, just waiting for this pandemic to be over, and now there’s a little space where we can come back and fight. I’m very well prepared for this fight.”
You have defeated very tough opponents in your career. Mosley, Malignaggi, Linares, and also you’ve been in wars with Erik Morales among others, you’re known for your punching power. What keeps you going at this stage of your career and why take on a very tough opponent after a long layoff?
“Yes, I’ve been through it all. I had great victories and some painful defeats but it’s all a learning experience. I know this opponent is very tough and that’s what keeps me motivated, facing good opposition and if I’m the underdog it motivates me more.”
What are your expectations going forward if all goes well against Navarro?
“The only thing I want is to be world champion this year. This is a very tough assignment that I have in front of me and I want to thank my promoter Golden Boy Promotions, Oscar De La Hoya, and Eric Gómez for taking me into consideration to be in this card. When they called me about this fight I took it right away because I want to stay active and my ultimate goal is to be world champion.”
