He was 1-1-1 against ruiz but he deserved 3 wins
He legit knocked out ruiz on a body shot Cortez ruled low incorrectly in the 2nd fight and he easily won the 3rd only to be screwed on the cards
But he was clearly diminished against ruiz.
What? Ruiz won the first fight. Holyfield has way too many excuses. His best days were probably gone by the Ruiz fights, but he still lost the first Ruiz fight,
Im going to go off memory
Close fight i thought holyfield eeked out and i think the judges agreed correct?

Ruiz was also down late in the first fight but it wasn't called. I thought a waning Holyfield won all three fights, including a clear knockout in the rematch.

The second Bowe fight seems like an odd choice given Bowe came in fat and out of shape. Not only that many people feel Holyfield lost the fight. Is a win over a guy who wasn't in good shape that many dispute really some great achievement on Holyfield's part?
In the third fight Bowe came in lighter and then proceeded to beat Holyfield like he did in the first fight.
No it's not a strange choice. It's the obvious choice. Holyfield fought a great fight in the 2nd Bowe fight. He never had a fight after that in which he looked as good. Once again, don't look at the weights. Watch the fight.

I would say 1993 after Bowe 2.
Holyfield was still a fairly formidable character upto as late as '99, but he was clearly past his peak after '93.
From 2000 onwards, he was fighting from memory & instinct.

He was never the same after the first Moorer fight.

His prime ended after the first Moorer fight. Even though he was successful for the next 8 years he wasn’t near his prime years of 1986-1994. I personally believe he should have retired after the James Toney fight.

The great Evander Holyfield's prime ended to me by the Vaughn Bean fight in 1998 in Atlanta, GA. He looked completely flat. I mean, flat!

After the 2nd Bowe fight. He never fought at that level again.
That sounds reasonable.
