Fernando Vargas was never the same after losing to Trinidad.
Duran ruined Davey Moore.
Not strictly his first loss given the Eubank defeat early in his career, but Mcguigan was finished to all intents and purposes after the Cruz defeat.
George Collins losing to Gary Jacobs.

There are hundreds but Vargas is a great example (Deserter). Has anyone said Hatton yet? I think the loss did Rick's head in.
Fighters should not get obsessed with the zero and that should be hammered into them from the first day in the gym. Always do your best, never give up, and whether you win or lose doesn't matter.

Though of course I should have added Trinidad himself, who was never the same after the schooling from Hopkins!

Cuban HW Jorge Luis Gonzalez who beat Bowe and Lewis in the amateurs, big things were predicted, he racked up a 23-0 (22KO) record before being knocked out by Riddick Bowe in a title attempt. After that he went 8-7 (6KO defeats), losing his last three fights by early stoppage.

Yeah that's another good example. He seemed to become an alcoholic basically after the loss, and never really came back to prime form.

He definitely ran hot and cold after that, but he still went on to have some of his finest performances even well after that. So I wouldn't say it ruined him, but he never got back to the heights he was at before that fight.

Juan Manuel Lopez was on a hell of a run at 30-0 , then lost by TKO to Salido , from that loss he went 6-5-1 , with all the losses by stoppage.

I'm thinking Victor Oganov(sp), was like 20-0 with 20ko's and touted as an unstoppable machine.
However his loss prob demonstrated his true level rather than ruining him.
